After a lifetime of caring for others, I found myself exhausted and burned out with compassion fatigue. I started caring for myself during the pandemic, but still struggle sometimes with putting myself first. I appreciate the insight you give in your videos, and use it as a time for self reflection. Thank you for sharing your perspective and dream. Will be looking forward to the other channel, too.

same here: I am currently healing my life time of giving always first to others. It's intense work but it can be done. And it does take a lot of time patience and Self Compassion ;-)

Hi. Cori. Welcome to Ireland. Im retired here, after 35 years in UK. Now 70+,I have become younger each year, due to living a moderate pace of life. I begin each day with ten mjnutes of gratitude prayer and meditation. Ive done this for 20 years. It brings inner peace and harmony. I love your old cottage. It has a lot of space and light. But it is evident the last person tried too hard to " modernise" it. Not always tastefully! I do like the big A window areas though. Maybe consider painting the 1970s knotty pine in a soft white. It will give a sense of space and light. A nice contrast to the stone walls. I agree it wd be great to open up big fireplace and install an old style range. Another inset fire with a back boiler could heat several radiators....I am so excited for you and your family..I look forward to following your journey. Best wishes. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

Hello and thank you Angelique! I feel like I'm becoming younger since being here so I can imagine exactly what you're talking about. I love how you spend your mornings and it's so inspiring that you've been doing that for 20 years. I hope to be able to say the same. Ahh thank you for all your lovely suggestions for the cottage!! And I'm so happy to have you along for this journey with us ❤

The renovation channel is a great idea, In a personal aspect being selfish to find some alone time is a must even in a family environment, wellbeing is really first ,I agree with everything you are saying, people pleasing and judgment are such a waste I think Rupert Spira probably has the right philosophy , the only real moment is this moment, who we are is not what we do who people think we are what we think we are ... the only realness is that feeling of being not a category, label or thing' in the end bringing some spirituality into the hamster wheel ..... hope you find a little goat to produce some healthy milk Thank you!

I personally would love a channel that both follows a renovation and discusses how to stay sane during the project...and in all seasons of life.

My family arrived in the U.K. just a couple of weeks ago, and your message resonates with me. This move has been chaotic, a million miles per minute, and I am realizing that I need to find a way to slow down and enjoy the moment now rather than waiting for everything to fall into place first. Thank you for the reminder

I have had to make these type of decisions lately too. I have been writing a book and putting together a 30 phase cellular repair and regeneration program as an offshoot to the book. At the same time I was running a youtube channel and it was distracting me from writing and hitting my book deadline. I had to look at pulling back seriously because on one hand after the book is published I would need the youtube channel to help me market it. But it was too much to take on. So I pulled back on the channel and hope that when I'm ready it will kick off again. Then in Jan I was trying to get my retreat booked for June 16th and in the end because I was no longer putting out videos I couldn't get it booked out and had to cancel. At that time a friend had been trying to get me to help her organise a womans shed in our town which would possibly help us get future business as we are both hypnotists and I'm a heart based living coach. But she didn't get things started until last week and my retreat has been cancelled. So I had to weigh up whether or not it would be good for me to take on a huge commitment to be on the committee as it would distract me from meeting my book deadline. I had to say no I'm sorry but I'm out.

Thankyou so much for your wise words. Caring and working plus being a mum and now Granny for over 40 years has taken its toll. But we are just beginning to turn the oil tanker of manic life around. Refusing to hurry and saying no to certain things has raised a few eyebrows! We are starting with a slow caravan holiday next week ( for 3 weeks) only in England. Its our reset for the rest of our life! THANKYOU!!🎉

Brilliant plan and prioritization! Love that you'll have two channels for the separate interests. The renovations will take on a pace of their own. It's funny how that happens... proving we are not in control! 😂 Good luck as you all slow the roll and enjoy the process as this new life unfolds. ❤

Lovely video Cori. Like the idea of two channels - will be good to do your renovation slowly if you can. A more spiritual and mindful exploration of your lived experience in your 'dream life' (no longer a dream though!), seems right to keep separate from the renovation work which is very practical and problem solving. Not usually much of just being although I'm sure you'll succeed in ensuring you are very present even when you're taking down walls/digging floors etc! If you're going for the renovation grants, I understand the work has to be done within a year, so I guess that might put some pressure on? I've looked into this as myself and partner are moving to Ireland later this year (just property hunting now). Great that you're making these changes now while you are still young. Wish I'd done this also when I was much younger, but I'm a firm believer that age should never stop us from doing anything! All best to you! Kate xx

I love the way you bring your point across! It's so important and it's good to see the younger generations now start to implement what most of us didn't and couldn't. Thankfully times are changing now but we still need reminders. Consistency is important and always keep focus on myself. Thank you for sharing your insights in this beautifully made video! ;-)

So exciting! Can’t wait to see the new channel! I agree wholeheartedly with you! Thats exactly why I got off the treadmill (as I like to call hustle culture) and became self-employed. Interestingly, my Amazon delivery friday was “The One Thing" by Gary Keller. A book with a similar ethos to what you spoke to here. It’s kinda like the 80/20 rule except you use a simple formula, by asking a focusing question to prioritise your day/ to- do list/ life. I can see it being quite effective for those of us trying to find a more complementary approach to productivity.

Hi Cori, I've been watching your channel for a while now but maybe not from the very start. Maybe you covered it previously but how come you chose Ireland to live your dream life? Had you some family connections, did you visit when you were younger? There must be equally rural places in Britain? From what I've seen, I really like Yorkshire people. They seem very down to earth, decent people. Don't get me wrong, you're very welcome here and I admire you and your family taking on this challenge

Thank you for the question and we get this a lot actually. We didn't have family connections, no. Didn't visit a lot when we were younger either. There are quite a lot of reasons why we chose Ireland (as I'm sure you can imagine) - maybe we should do a video on this? - but the short answer is we wanted to be back in Europe, we fell in love with Ireland (hard not too!), and we weren't able to buy a house with the amount of land we want in the UK 😍❤ But it was mainly the falling in love with it here part.

5.37 I think that is Rumex acetosa (sorrel?), in norwegian we call it surgress (sour grass). In that case it is edible, and has quite a sour taste. As children we used to pick it and eat it almost as sour candy, its quite nice😋

A suggestion: Look at embrace how the wild, natural life around you. How do the plants and animals around you prioritize life? Their food prep, their household chores, raising children. I realize I am personification that life around you. God gives us examples all around us. Remember to plan a contingency plan with the renovation. It will take the stinging surprise out of the surprise. Most people do not plan that contingency in the plan. Enjoy each step.💚💚💚

What have made your past life in particular, and those of other people in today's human modern world in general, always so uncomfortably busy are the following: 1. Materialism and too much consumption of it 2. Wide-spread desire to accumulate material values more than needed 3. Constant worries about making enough money to afford the costs of living Explanation: All commercial or for-profit organisations, such as capitalist corporations, are embodiments of the sole goal of pure capitalism, which is to accumulate material values as much and in every way as possible. It has created materialism and too much consumption of it. The beating heart of capitalism is kept alive by personal profits. Without making any profit, It will collapse or die. Hence, the intrinsic nature of capitalism is limitless greed, and its mechanism to reach its sole goal is exploitation of the working class, and in order for capitalists or for-profit corporations to be more competitive and make more and more profits to satisfy the intrinsic nature of capitalism, they have to squeeze the working class to the bones, by making them work as much and fast as possible. That's the reason why it is exhausting when working for any commercial corporation. You usually become too tired to enjoy anything when you come home after a working day. Human life always spins around material values, no matter whether it's constant worries about having to made enough money to pay for the costs of living, or an unquenchable desire to accumulate material values to become rich in material values, As a result, the qualities of human life have been degraded or eroded, and the human spirit becomes diminished and impoverished because your life lacks all other values of human life, such as true friendship, love, family connections, social attachment, and all other intangible qualities which give your life true depth and meanings, due to the fact that your mind has been filled up with either constant worries about material values, or thoughts about how to accumulate them, and thus you just don't have any time nor space in your thoughts left, or don't have enough time nor space for such other values in your life, while material values represent merely one among so many othe values. When you can be self-employed or work for yourself, it's the time when you can choose to prioritise what are more important to your true well-being than material values or money, and thus you can adjust your own pace of life to serve your own personal goals of life as the way how you wish There are more and more people who have quitted working for companies to create employment for themselves to live an independent life, with far much more freedom of choices, and time spent with their loved ones, especially after the pandemic In not very far future, when the costs of maintenance of such hardware as robots , automatic systems, and such software as AI become more profitable than hiring human workers, almost all human labour forces will be replaced with such machines and programmes, and thus the future's economic models will be different forms of self-employment, or having to accept poorer working conditions and wages in order to compete with automated systems

I have always thought market driven finance and capitalism is based on toxic greed. 90% of people are enslaved by ruthless corporations...90% of global wealth is in the hands of just 10% of rich people. Where is the equality? We need to dump capitalism and replace it with cooperatives and small organic self employed enterprises. Capitalism will crash and burn eventually. 😂😂
