here in brazil skate turns very popular after rayssa emerged. every public park have a street skate lane now.

There's a whole ranking system. They probably didn't have the rank to go straight to the semifinals and failed or didn't participate on the last chance qualifier (untelevised).

Funa had an injury and couldn't compete! She was replaced with marina Gabriela. Liz is also coming from an injury, she's competed on the world street skate Japan last month so it is likely that she will be 100% ready for SLS Paris

Not quite, but getting closer. When she can trick down obstacles like El Toro or Wilshire, then she'll be on the level. No women are on that level yet.

@@molokai71 But these men will. Are you comparing her to other competitive skaters or just Joe Blow cruising down to get blunts? Just riding a skateboard elevates you over some other men who won't even try, but against other pro competition and big gap skaters, she isn't there yet. None of them are. Their progression is amazing, but there is still work to be done.

I don't understand the scoring apparently. Chloe's run was at least as good as Nishiya's run without the bail yet was scored less and Rayssa's first run, while great, wasn't three whole points better than either Chloe or Nishiya's runs.

What? Her runs were scored correctly, kinda high actually. She started both runs with a regular 50-50 on the highest scoring obstacle. That sets her run on a VERY LOW standard right off the bat. To top it off, she didn't end her runs on the highest obstacle, opting for the middle, smaller hubba. She pretty much did one "big" trick and that was a punny 50-50. Doing flips on small rails/ramps or flat ground have pretty low scoring potential, unless it's a crazy hard trick. 50-50 kickflip outs are not one of those. For comparison, Rayssa started and ended her runs on the big obstacles with a Backlip/Backsmith and Frontblunt, respectively. All tricks are leagues above a 50-50, specially the BS Smith and the FS Blunt.
