I think Gonzalez really got robbed on that fakie Ollie Switch fs feeble. That's a super hard tricks that deserved at least an 8.x. Great skating from everyone though , wanna see more Montoya in SLS !!

Every single one of his best tricks were fakie to grinds. At some point it’s appropriate to deduct for lack of variety. Nyjah, Yuto, and others will do tricks in nearly every stance (although Yuto can be repetitive with nollie spin slides as well). Think it was judged appropriately.

At 34:00 reyes did the same trick like nyjah in the crown final. Nyjah got 9.6, reyes 7.3

@@dr_zaius i'm not an expert, but i'm not a fool. Just watch the Videos. Nyjahs rail is not that difficult. Someday i was skating, too . Reyes did it on a 7stairs Handrail. Just think about how dangerous this trick is. That's crazy. 7.3?????wtf???

@@thebigmarkovic That competition, the scoring was much higher on that rail for everyone's tricks. They over-scored that obstacle, and overall, 5 years ago every trick was scoring higher since the level of tricks was much lower back then. Kelvin got a 9.5 for kickflip crooked grind on that rail that you're mentioning Nyjah got a 9.6 on. Kickflip crook also would've scored about 7.0-7.4 in this 2023 SLS Select Series contest, on this rail.

Sooo soo so happy to hear the conversation at 7:00. I hate when people call it a big spin grind anytime the skater does a shuv. Like I agree last time I checked a big spin starts in 1 stance and ends in the other everytime

Big spin is a 360 board rotation with a 180 body rotation. So even though a big spin front board slide only rotates 270 before the slide, the 360 is completed with the remaining 90 rotation of the board and body together coming off. Commentator was off base and lazily backpedaled it, though both had their respective miscalls throughout.

Was hoping this would pop up today. I was like theres no way they'd only put the mens prelims and womens final but ive seen stranger things happen. Congrats Dom Walker. All were incredible skaters but he was the only one skating close to SLS level. Really shows just how insane skaters like Nyjah, Kelvin, Joslin, O'Neil, Cole, and Gustavo really are. I cant believe the level of street skating nowadays.

Unfortunate to see SLS having to cut budgets by using (for the second time?) small and bland private indoor parks. Edit: That being said, I imagine building and destroying super nice CONCRETE parks at each stop has been insanely costly over the years. I've apparently misunderstood that this an actual SLS competition. I guess it's more of an extended series of heats to qualify for Tokyo.
