I know the focus was the anti-piracy measures, but damn I can't help but notice this game still looks hella good almost 20 years later!

The van is so understandably mean- I get that they want to discourage people from bootlegging the game, but also, man... The races are damn near impossible as it is. 😭😭😭

Well, I learned something new today about a game i basically know my whole life! The funniest thing to me is how sneaky Sucker Punch was with this measurements, especially the time triggered ones. It really makes you feel like "what is going on??? Everything was fine and I just had fun, why is it ruined now?" instead of straight up pushing a notification which says "you're a thief - you may play one in this game but NOT becoming one yourself" 😂

Omg I feel so dumb I thought the title implied that you were going to go through the anti-piracy measures in the first Sly Cooper, Sly 2 Band of Thieves, Sly 3 Honor Among Thieves, Sly Cooper Thieves in Time, and whatever Sly 5 and Sly 6 would be. Interesting video nonetheless. Makes me wonder if the studio genuinely thought tons of pirates were looking to illegally distribute the game. I know that most studios are largely interested in protecting the first few weeks of sales from being ruined by piracy, but I think it'd be strange if hackers were seriously focused on pirating Sly Cooper over something like GTA.

I was in livestream yesterday with accidentally caugh by antipiracy measures. He didn't do that on purpose though because he didn't know, he just got modded version of the game and the game didn't recognize the code of the game anymore so it put antipiracy mode on

i would like to point out the some of these can be triggered on legit copies of the game if using cheat discs like codebreaker or gameshark

i remember when i was having Ratchet and clank up your arsenal disc, this game was in the Ratchet and Clank game file. this is just happened on 2014

The real question is does Sly 2/3/4 have anti-piracy measures?

Is there a way to play this in backup copy without this happening? I got the iso from my original disk because the disk has a lot of scratches to the point it barely plays at all. Wanting to know if there’s another way with playing the legitimate console.

I've downloaded the iso and was trying to play it on opl at my ps2 with a pendrive. It activate the antipiracy and I can't progress the game. Do you know any way that I can remove this?

I know this goes beyond what the video covers, but were these measures even necessary? With digital distribution, piracy is much more rampant these days. But then? I can’t see too many people itching to make illegal copies of Sly Cooper for the PS2.

Ahh the irony. This now happens to me when I try play my legit copy in PCSX2 but nobody else seemed to have the problem because they're all using pirated downloads. Similar issue with the original Spyro.

On the OPL, even if you check mode 6 WITH another mode, like mode 4 for skipping videos, the anti piracy measures overides mode 6 and fks you game

This game supports one thief, and only one. You ain't it.

I never heard of this game series before but it is one of the many Playstation 1 and 2 games that have anti-piracy measures that make you cringe
