I started with thumbs when I got into RC airplanes when I was young, and as soon as I started flying helis I naturally switched to pinch and now fly everything with pinch. Just feels more natural and precise.

I thumbed for 3 years and took me another 3 years to get to where I was after the first 3 years thumbing with pinching... then my skills rapidly progressed. Wish I had starting pinching from the start.

Been pincher for 10 years. I tried thumb on the sim. The left stick am not precise with thumb. Right stick with thumb not as bad. He didn't talk about stick height how it affects your throws. Also the right stick being a pincher , I use the thumb only for extreme end movements for roll or flip and revert back to pinch after the movement. I have both Futaba and Spektrum. The Futaba 14sg is not pinch friendly because the sticks are recessed in the case. On extreme stick movement to the north side there is interference if you pinch.
