Hey, this was my favorite video so far, especially when you talked about bluffing (something I'm bad at). Although I really think deeper context towards these decisions is missing, I know it's zone, and this is "make poker simple," but I think this channel would benefit from making other videos leaning towards some analysis on how to develop a strategy for these spots that you're bluffing. Thanks for the content as always ❤

sure ill make a video for 25nl. but as someone thats gone through the stakes, 25nl and 1k nl arent going to play that much differently. people make the same mistakes, the mistakes are just magnified at lower stakes.

I find that shove on 997xQ gets snapcalled by Q5 so often at 50nl. Feels good when you have AQ+.

Thanks for the great content! I am curious about a hand in this video. At 11:20, (right table) can you put yourself in the villain's shoes? Would you fire a bluff out of position having ATo since turn goes check-check? And let's say they bet pot, would you consider calling, folding or raising?

At 16:30 you played that hand good, could have also raised turn but you’re getting good price to hit straight. You pretty much turned the sets he can have into bluff catchers by the river. Nice shove.

To translate his " if you think people fold too much to big bet with value"... Your value hands drive the sizing of your bluffs. For every value hand in your bet size range, you have to have X many bluffs. Qouting others here

I think that hand at the end with AK the villain played incorrectly. He should not have called simply because a big portion of your range there also consists of AK. Villain is risking too much to potentially chop. Also he has the K of hearts which is horrible since he blocks even more of your bluffs. The shove on the river by you should have folded out his AK with heart

Hi, just wanted to ask about your BB defence ranges. How do you construct them? I feel like it tends to lean towards being a bit tighter than the typical onlline ranges you can find, did you adjust them to your own preferences/ whatever pool you're playing or is it just a solver range you picked up somewhere? both approaches can work but you have to construct a balanced range around whatever approach you pick: if you trap top set, your checking range can't just be top set. you now have to check potential bluffs, potential bluffcatchers, etc. ultimately its much simpler to go for the bet

Also, what are your thoughts on varying your preflop sizes based on positioning (i.e. minraising or 2.2x UTG/HJ and 2.5x CO/Btn) 2nd, I like your overbet turn stabs in check check lines when you’re OOP. What is your general heuristic on rivers after getting called on whether to follow through with your bluffs on river OOP?

i don't offer a CFP as I believe that its quite a poor coaching format: the vast majority of candidates don't make money, so you as the winning player must pay extra to make up for everyone else that drops out. in addition the coach is incentivized to take on as many people as possible, because since its gambling a couple players will inevitably make $ and pay you. for a CFP owner why would you give 100% of your attention to 1 student, when you can give 1% of your attention to 100 and make way more? if you're interested in working with me you can apply for an interview here: calendly.com/makepokersimple/30min

In the first JThh hand on the left, when you flop cbet other than the obvious macroanalysis things like backdoor straight/flushdraw, 2 overs, dry flop. Do you also think about how your hand blocks value and therefore you are less likely to get x/r off the pot? (Villain cant have T9hh or J9hh).

How did you get to this high level of understanding the game? Lots of us watch hundreds of educational videos, but hours of those dont even compare to 30min of yours. Have you worked with data bases? Analyzed your own stats, pool tendencies? Have you been coached at some point of your career? What are the tools, practices would you recommend to be able to find these bluffing spots like you do? ive spent thousands of hours studying, and also tens of thousands of dollars on elite level coaching. to get to this level you have to be willing to sink thousands of hours and years of your life, or thousands of dollars for someone to show you. often times you need both.

whats the general idea behind betting pot with a set on the flop? arent you ultimately just targeting top pair (very specific holdings your opponent could have) when you do that? would you not say that youre losing out on value from non top pair holdings and only getting real value when you happen to run into top pair?

As much as I appreciate the content I do think your play is imbalanced. There is hardly any hand you are giving up after a bluff goes wrong. The AK at the end is the best example. Vilian insta calls on flop and turn, board does not change much so you would just give up on the river. Imho.
