no doubt the best forecast lesson ever seen got some pretty much knowledge about the forecasting. ps: please we need some more lesson about forecasting .

where did you get the 6 at the end? is that given or is that the most likely scenario too? thanks for the answer.

Jaslyn Soriano As he has taken 1 times A, 4 times B and 1 times C; total 1+4+1=6 times. This method statistically tends to find the mean. You can modify as per need. For example if you are more sceptical and wants to go forward with keeping worst case more prominent you can do it like- 1 times A, 1 times B, 4 times C.

David Vaughan because he’s adding 6 when he adds 1,4,1. This is literally adding steps to find an average . So much faster to add all 3 numbers and divide by 3.

​@@OpenMindsFreestyle @Tarzziccio If you add all three values and divide by 3 your answer is wrong. The purpose of adding ABC values allows for weight distribution. ABC are always constant at 1-4-1 it is a formula to get a better approximation based on probability. Probability of best case scenario =1, most likely 4, worst 1. So for example if you expect 4 clients is the best case scenario for the month and 1 is the likely, worst case is 0 clients then you get 8/6 = 1.33 where as if you just add them up and divide by 3 you get 5/3 = 1.66....... Therefore your forecast is wrong and this may cause a serious cash flow problem in your business.

haha! that would be average number of units sold, as opposed to the standard/benchmark number of units that must be sold in a week.
