its so frustrating to see people who spend hours working on their products and then just seeing someone who buys cheap bulk like lipgloss and re-sells it

why does homemade lip gloss and others don't get much attention but resellers get more attention :/

A lot of the times, these "small business" owners bulk buy off of aliexpress or some other website and sell it as their own product ...

5 Tips for a small businesses: 1. Write a letter for your customers, it seems more professional and it’s just amazing to get a hand written letter. 2. Stick to a theme, this goes for products and ty befall your website/other. Maybe you want a pastel theme and you want to sell stickers, hair ties and shirts. Then stick to that(of course you can add more items but at first start with a little bit) 3. maybe add a candy or something, a little goodie bag would be good too but it’s just nice to get a little something with your package. 4. do something out of your package and don’t just make it a plain brown box, maybe pick something white and add a sticker/other 5. don’t just resell something. Of course, buy everything you need but don’t just buy a product and sell it.

Just a PSA from a small business owner: re-use packaging! Be eco-friendly! Yes the colorful bubble-mailers are cute but your customer is most likely just going to throw it away. There are also plenty of ways to make used packaging look great as well. Let's all do our part and help save the planet :)

I love when small businesses throw in freebies. I once ordered a gift box and two sets of stickers and pins from Literary Emporium so they gave me two more free pins and it made me so happy! I also feel like the extra care for packaging and sometimes hand-written notes really make shopping from small businesses so much more worth it!

Small business tik toks are they always basically the same lip gloss ,scrunchies and lashes with stickers candy and excess packaging that will just be thrown away ? 😂

What I’ve learned from these tiktoks: When’s something expensive it’s not always because it’s valuable or it’s overpriced, a lot of time it’s because it costs money to get or make the item, get the supplies to ship, a lot of times to get free goodies with the order, the shipping label and the shipping cist

Did some quick research on these small businesses and made an conclusion, 2 types of small business: (1) Making the actual products and selling based on time and effort put into the making process. (2) Buying a bulk of the product and reselling it with the price that would be a little cheaper or meet the standards for the pricing. Both ways have their own benefits and losses, but I notice that some of these small businesses like to do pretty packages. Its very aesthetically pleasing for the public view, though is it necessary? One thing I would clarify is investing on pretty packages won't help you grow business, unless your business is based on creating aesthetic packages. The consumer will rated based on how they like the item you're selling; if the product sucks, then it sucks. Also always gather a lot of information and data when doing any type of business and plan first.

I think we all know that half of these “businesses” just buy them off of amazon or whatever and resell them at probably a higher price. And as someone who actually runs their own small business and hustling harder than ever cuz I actually have to MAKE everything. It sucks to see these people put little to no effort into their business yet still get insanely popular. To anyone out there wanting to start a small business, understand there is a difference between the business actually being yours ( AKA you make your products to some extent) and simply being an delivery person. And I’m sorry (I’m not sorry) but that’s just the hard truth.

I’d rather not by makeup made in someone’s bedroom that’s random chemicals thrown together in polystyrene bowls. Or lipglosses someone’s bulk bought and packaged all pretty. No offence to anyone doing that but just make sure you do it properly and safely.

To everyone giving hate to resellers... remember atleast we have the guts to start up something. And you know what? Do this experiment: try to make your own lipgloss and tell your friend to resell some other lip gloss.... both of you will earn the same amount of money but you will put in the hard work for the same amount of money while your friend enjoys the money and all the free time they save by not actually making the product. +You don't see independent bookstores writing all of their own books or small boutiques designing all of their own jewelry and clothing. They designate vendors for their shop and then re-sell items. The lipgloss is wholesale and those companies are counting on small businesses to buy their products. There's a difference between a small business and an independent artist. No shade to anyone who makes their own products... I mean I have great respect for you but this is to all those ppl who give hate to resellers for no reason.
