years ago i built a waterfall in my cousins yard with block and brick, it looked like a kings throne, had stairs and a huge spillway at the top, down to a small pool with lights in it, that thing is still standing today, it sits behind and on top of a huge retaining wall about 60 feet long, the pond and waterfall are about 12 feet wide and sits in the middle of the wall, i really really got beat on this project but it was for my cousin and her husband, he lowballed the h3ll out of me and i was way underpaid but everyone loves that fall, i should've started a business doing those, never too late though. oh and i forgot to mention it has four columns on each corner of the fall and 2 columns at the end of each wall, what i charged him back then was adequate pay enough, but he still lowballed, something like what i built him back then would probably cost someone 8 - 10 k today and i did it in less than a week BY MYSELF, no laborer help, nothing. of course my back isnt built the same but i am really thinking about going take a pic of that one and the one im building in my yard and start doing them again.

Lol.. We've done concrete ponds before but never like that. The guys did a fantastic job and i really love seeing the homeowners reactions to the completed job. I don't know, but I would opted to cut the tree and not move the pond. I guess when money grows on trees... you move the pond! However, the redesigned pond is far better than the original. I would have bent the flow of the falls toward the patio instead of towards the woods.

great job as usual fellas! just a note, clean up the area a bit more . . .that patio was grimey and the periphery cluttered with yard debris and "unkempt' . . . it distracted from the feature during 'the money shot' :) beyond that as always spectacular job showing the work, explaining the bits without drone'n on and being great dudes in general :)

Im currently working on a pond about that size that has stones cemented over a 1000 year old pond liner, including stones up to 3 ft. tall. Jesus help me. Looks like there is another liner under that and a green carpet under that. There is an electrical outlet sticking out of the ground and another bare wire next to it. I've waited 2 years to tackle this by hand. 😂

Hi. Hope you dont mind me asking a question 1yr after you posted this video. The pond that you made here is EXACTLY what I have envisioned for years. The water fall leading into the koi pond is beautiful and the overall aesthetic feels natural and serene. I have a question though. What happens if there is an unusually high amount of rain received and the pond overflows. Would the fish be washed away and perhaps die. If so, would you recommend a raised pond and waterfall. Which takes away the natural look and feel.

Can I ask why didn't you bring this pond up to the edge of the patio?. It looks spectacular either way.. just wondering why

How avoid mosquitoes

Everything looks beautiful until you realize how much work it is to keep it clean and algae at bay. I watch another KZfaqr who had a huge "pond" more like a small lake put in and I bet they had no idea the work that goes into maintaining it. She actually wears waders so she can get into the "pond" to clean out the gunk. I congratulate the folks who have the money to do this type of installation and can afford to keep it looking nice.
