My friend fabricated a small square hay bale accumulator grapple. We are giving it a try for the first time.

It takes a while to get the hang of using it but it’s so much easier with a skid steer.

His inspiration was a maxilator. I gave him some pictures and he started building. There aren't any plans. The maxilator uses bearings on the pivot points on the grapple. This one just rides inside a piece of pipe metal on metal. A little bit of grease and it should last a long time.

Im in the middle of building one and want the easiest possible way of dropping the deviders to then unstack the bales off the wagons, how exactly do yours mount and unmount? is it efficient? How is that pipe/sleeve bearing idea holding up? Thats my plan so im glad to see someone else is doing it too lol

2 pins for each baffle hold them on. There are bolts in them right now. Works ok. The square tubing in the pipe bushing idea works great. Holding up good so far. If you use it a lot you could put grease plugs on them

How much did it cost to make compared to buying one

Cheaper because we didn't use any bearings. Just metal on metal with some grease. Going to last a long time. Way cheaper than square shaft bearings. If you have time to mess around building one.

How big is yr tractor and how much does that grabbler weigh

It's a 45hp tractor. Not sure what the grabber weights. The tractor handled it,but it was a lot for it. Works better on a 75hp tractor tractor.

@@LostSkills only reason iam asking iam looking at something to buy but sale men told the accumulator grabbers are to heavy

@@richardtatum3223 the 45 horse tractor does the job, but it would be easy to break something on the tractor or upset it. I had 1700 lbs of counterweight on the tractor.
