Great review.Was looking at the new Festool battery table saw but for the price this may be the winner.Festool have the saw stop tech in the EU and UK .Not sure about the US.

Great video. I’ve got the Dewalt due to space & built a cabinet for it on lockable wheels, a couple of drawers for storage & a fold up/down outfeed table 👍.

The Rage 5 saw is perfect for me, easily moved around my small workshop and into the garden for larger sheet material cuts. Dust collection is crap, but as far as I can see a lot of youtubers have all sorts of dust collection systems, but in lots of their vids they don't use them . I just wish the rage 5 had a bit more revs on the spindle speed, but no doubt that is because they sell it on the multi blade principal where you can cut all sorts of materials with it. Nice comparison vid JP, but I'll stick with my Rage 5. Thanks to Leo at Hand-i Craft for putting me on to it.

Great video JP, thank you. Love my Rage-5. I work outside only so it has been rather low production the last couple weeks. I have told Santa I been a good boy and asked for a 3x3m pop-up tent with walls so finger crossed there. After watching yer videos and getting a different rebate deal on the price I got the saw and the 80 tooth Saxton blade. Once the prime milling of the pallet wood is done with the multi blade I switch to the fine cut. Take care & stay safe.

Hi JP for me the rage 5 is great just thinking of getting the new insert but I can’t fault the table once all things are dialled in for me it can’t be beat hope you’re new adventure abroad is going well

i has the dewalt 10” and was a great saw but i wanted a bigger cutting capacity so went over to the Hikoki table saw. this has rack and pillion too but has a bigger width which suits me

Hi Debs. I have just googled that saw, it looks a great machine! It has a table size similar to the Rage with the fence of the DeWalt, and a price that’s sits between the two 👍 Regards JP

Nice comparison, Sir! If I get the urge to build a workbench I'd consider incorporating the Dewalt one. Incidentally, I have an old Dewalt DW743 flip-over saw with the same orange Woodford Woodworking guard, which fits the DW743's riving knife, but for which I haven't yet found the right adapter to connect to a shop vac hose. I'd welcome any suggestion... Thanks

What about drilling maybe a 1 or 2 inch hole in the bottom of the cowl so any dust will just fall straight through rather than collecting while also keeping the blade safely away from your dog.

Festool do a sawstop portable saw in the EU. It's not cheap.

I found the evolution terrible, it wasnt possible to get the fence parallel to the blade and the adjustment screw was stripped from the factory Spend a bit more and get the DeWalt even if you dont get a stand
