Key excerpts from the CRISIL report: - India will spend nearly Rs 143 lakh crore on infrastructure in seven years between 2023-30, more than twice the Rs 67 lakh crore spent in the previous seven years 16-23 - Of this, Rs 36.6 lakh crore will be in green investments, a 5x rise compared with fiscals 2017-2023." - Consistent policies, timely regulatory interventions, and relentless and timely execution are crucial to keep India’s infrastructure investment thesis compelling over the long term and draw in patient capital. - Roads and power are expected to remain major contributors, while relatively nascent ones such as EVs, solar, wind, and hydrogen will pick up pace. - The share of EVs in India’s overall automobile sales is likely to reach ~30% by 2030. 2 Wheeler EV sales are expected to outpace other segments up to 2028. Demand for EV buses will be driven by state transport undertakings. - Favourable total cost of ownership and cost of acquisition, as well as model availability for two- and three-wheelers will support EV offtake in coming years. - The share of renewable energy in total capacity is estimated to grow 4x between fiscals 2023 and 2030. Solar will account for half of the incremental non-fossil generation. There is a growing need to leverage emerging technologies such as ‘floatovoltaics’ (floating solar), offshore wind technology, and green hydrogen. - The hydrogen sector is poised to attract substantial investments, estimated at ~Rs 1.5 lakh crore between fiscals 2024 and 2030, driven by government incentive schemes. - There is a massive funding need, which can be through accelerated bond market activity, greater foreign investment interest, and robust equity markets. - India’s first sovereign green bond issuance will pave the way for the development of the domestic bond market for green issuances. - The pace of monetization will have to accelerate. The continued evolution of asset monetization models can ensure a timely flow of funds and provide exits to existing investors. - Balancing growth and environmental concerns, and ensuring a smooth and just transition from fossil fuels will be important.

thanks sahil for your knowledge, being a coimbatorian, i always crossed pricol office which is located near anaikati road like 5-10 kms from my home. my father always used to say its a speedometer manufacturing company and it is prestegious for people to work there(for combatorians working in pricol and LMW are like high government jobs) today only through your video came to know how valueble and big the company is and its business model. thank you once again

I really feel you should get SEBI registered.. some very strict rules are in plan over next one year for financial advisors and educators.. they are eating into the profitability of news channels who have political connections, so its a politically driven initiative :)

Pricol looks good. I booked profits and exited a while back. My biggest reason was that I wasnt able to find the division in revenue between fluid management systems and driver information systems. EVs will make fluid management systems obsolete in the long run so I exited. Knowing that fluid management system forms only 35% of the business makes me rethink if I should enter the stock again. FIIs have reduced the stake and DIIs have increased it over last couple of years. FIIs are anyways focused on shorter term profits mostly so we have to keep that in mind. Though they are making a come back again. Entry at 5-10x didnt make sense before the SIP concept so that argument is rested :) A stock which has rallied continuosly for 3 years should be entered in SIPs over a period of minimum couple of quarters for a long term investor. Future growth perspective is anyways the biggest factor to consider which looks really good here. There are lot of competitors but they are all international players. This would have given Pricol an edge but its dependent for its components from a chinese firm Heilongjiang Tianyouwei Electronics which needs to be tracked. I dont know the extent of dependency though. Promoter holding @ 38% is a concern. Most auto ancilliary stocks have it @ +60%. Dependency on a single product is another concern. We will need a video comparing Pricol, Craftman, Motherson, Sansera, Sona, Sundram, Suprajit, Uno Minda. I dropped 3 last month and now I have 5 of them. But then my analysis mostly involves website visits, reading few articles, and comparing their numbers on an excel (at this point) which is not sufficient :) I am new to the smallcap (infact most of midcap as well) game so my knowledge about past track record of these companies is very limited.

The reason why I say that EVs will make traditional car systems obsolete is the pace of advancements in solar cell technology. Research is being done on transparent solar cells. And given the exponential pace in these researches in recent times, it wont take more than few years to reach commercial viability. Evenually the whole surface of the car including its bonnet, rare, top, as well as the glasses in front, back and sides will be covered with transparent solar cell layers (or may be a combination with translucent printable ones which are already being used on cars in US). They will be able to produce enough energy for 30-40 kms everyday in a country like India (India produces twice energy from the same solar cell compared to US, and US is already seing solar cell covered cars). The biggest benefit of this technology is that it will make charging obsolete. Battery charging will still be required for longer travels, emergencies as well as couple of winter months for colder states, but they will be hardly 1/5th in capacity and size. The transition could take upto a decade but I am quite sure solar surface cars are the future for a hot country like India. And then there are startups like the ePlane Company which will take the game to entirely next level with eVTOLs but there is 15-20 years time for that to reach wider audience. We will see them in action for the premium segment within 2-5 years.

Not sure if this aspect was discussed/looked in to Minda decided to approach the CCI to go ahead with its plan of increasing its stake in Pricol to up to 24.5 percent, following the acquisition of a 15.7 percent stake, by purchasing over 1.91 crore shares of Pricol from the open market on February 17, 2023.
