nice tutorial :) can you do a similiar one for cables/wires? I want the cable to move around realistically when I move the mouse I have modeled.

For something like this I would maybe do a simulation instead of a rig, but I'll see if I can do a wire/rope rig video, and that might help point you in the right direction!

This is just artistic right, In real life those spur gears would mesh terribly, you need a properly calculated in-volute curve for constant meshing along the entire length of the teeth for maximum efficiency and transfer of torque

Absolutely, this is more for animation and games. For manufacturing you would need to do far more calculations. Probably better to use Solid Works for something like that.

Hey, this helped me with the planetary/cyclic gears I was making! I have a question regarding rigging, I wanted to make an animation of a cube being rolled on the ground, so it will roll along its edge rather than its center, after trying out different things I was able to make the animation by parenting 3 emptys and keyframing the rotation, but what if I a different shape is to be rolled on a plane, can a universal rig be made for rolling 3d primitves/objects along their surface?
