What a beautiful song. 4:50 and beyond brings tears to my eyes. Shame on Geffen for ruining the studio version by sucking the soul out of it with a drum machine remix. And we can't even hear the studio original anymore. No where to be found. Tragic.
@BolsaChicaRadio2 ай бұрын
I still have my original CD initial, first pressing release with full drum tracks. It sounds so melodic! I remember transferring the CD over to DAT with an AES digital coax cable & played the DAT over & over & over again in my car audio system on a portable DAT unit from SONY, the TCD, Version 1. The album (a concept album in my mind) sounded way beyond exceptional. "LOVE BEYOND THE RUINS" did not have ONE down/filler song; in my opinion, it was a "RUBBER SOUL", "PET SOUNDS" & "DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED" of the late 1990s. BolsaChicaRadio

Agree strongly. When you go on television and act as if it's your own song, it's being quite dishonest to the tv audience at home. She could have said "we are doing a cover of Roxy Music's More Than This, which was on our such and such album". That way people can check out their album while also being informed about the original.
@methos31353 жыл бұрын
@@musiclover856 From a business standpoint in makes much more sense for Bryan wanting a mention on TV about it being a cover as it might attract new listeners who are curious about the original and if they like what they hear, they might want to dig deeper into the Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry back catalogue and become new fans.
