The dirt looked like the chocolate palace from Willy Wonka and the fact the water melted just like the chocolate palace as well 💀

With so many dirt variations (normal, coarse, rooted, mycelium, podzol, and path blocks) you could probably make a wonderful gradient for the Palace-

When the dirt one came i was like: "CHOCOLATE!"

It really shows how much shape & texture the palace has that it still looks so good even in cobblestone.

Not going to lie. I think the dirt one looks so good because it looks like if you took the build and made a pottery design for it. Like it doesn’t even look like dirt from a distance.

Honestly, it's a monument to how great of a builder Joel is that even when stripped of its key identifying feature -how colorful it is- the Matral Palace still looks gorgeous.

The Empires SMP has been my favorite Smp i have ever watched

That palace is easily one of my top 3 favorite MineCraft builds I’ve seen & is my *number 1* favorite survival MineCraft build so far!! I’ve taken MANY screen shots of both the various stages & completed form of this palace in hopes of recreating it in my own survival MineCraft world. I’m building all the various villages/kingdoms for mythical/fictional dwarves, multiple types of elves, hobbits, etc as well as various types of both real & fiction human ones…such as steampunk, medieval, etc. So something like this would be an incredible Aladdin style palace for the human desert kingdom!! I just recently got a large villager trading center up & running. I included roughly 15 stone masons so that I could buy terracotta & I finally have all of the 2 block tall flowers as well as a flower farm in a flower forest biome to get the majority of the dyes. I also have a cactus farm for green dye & a small squid farm for black dye. However I need a *LOT* of black dye for several of the projects I have in mind. So…I’ve either got to massively expand my squid farm or build a wither rose farm which I’ve never made.😕 I’ve already got the chicken/egg farm needed for the version of wither rose farm I would want to try so….I’ll just have to wait & see. Also will have to try both to see which causes the least amount of lag. May have to just make small to medium sized versions of both just so I don’t cause insane amounts of lag…or totally crash my game.

This build almost looks like it grew out of the mesa biome itself :) and the textures and depth are so good that it still looks impressive even as only one block! if anything the single-block made me appreciate the detail put into the layers even more :)

The palace with always be my favorite because he made this huge and very dangerous palace in survival. Any mess up could’ve changed the ENTIRE look of the palace, or led to his death. I’m very impressed with Joel for this magical build.

The dirt one actually looks like some kind of adobe palace! And yes I know that'd technically be the mudbricks block but the effect is pretty similar.

As an aspiring artist a special thing has been drilled into my skull: ‘ if a design looks great even in simple color, then you’ve got a great ground work for your design’. Think about that next time you look at the Disney mouse. 🐭

Worldedit can replace that with more than one block, randomly placed in the structure. Imagine that with a nice textured pallete, it'd be like a sculpture

Not sure how difficult it would be to accomplish using the commands you used to do this but…I think turning all the different colors into the same/similar colored glass blocks would look incredible!! Especially if you added light sources inside and showed it at night with shaders!!😍😍😍

I’d like to see it made out of sand as if it had been sculpted by hand but it may need to be swapped to sandstone for some places like the roof so the sand doesn’t fall
