So I got the Tilta seamless gear ring in the 0.8 and the follow focus feels like it is binding when turning. I even tried changing the gear on the follow focus to see it that would help. Would you know what would cause this? Thanks and great review!

Hey Ryan, hmm I've never imagined that it could bind when turned, thats really odd. I don't think Im much of a help to you. Perhaps reach out to Tilta? That shouldn't be happening since the mechanism is rather simple.

Can you change direction of the gear if you prefer the opposite way of turning the knob?

In theory yes, but I don't think its comfy. What I do is - I rest the follow focus in my hand for greater stability.

Thanks for the info. Installing mine now on smallRig cage. Seems you have to remove the HDMI clamp. So it is either the clamp or the follow focus? Can't use both at same time?

Cheers mate! Ahh I think there are million ways how to install it, but if you only have the cage and the rod that came with follow focus, I guess you won't be able to also install hdmi clamp. If you have 15mm double rods (that goes under your camera cage) then you could install both!

Thanks! I think I figured out a way with a nano rail clamp with a rod holder...it is small, fits on left side under the HTML port, and can hold the one rod for the follow focus. I just heard about it about an hour ago, learn something new every day. Thanks again.@@TomsJurjaks

Daft question, sorry. If it want to, can I put the follow focus on the right hand side of the lens instead of the left? Thank you

Hey Chloe, yes you can! In fact you can put it in 4 different ways - you can have the rod on either side as well as on bottom or top part of camera. I chose to attach the follow focus on left side and have the rod on bottom. So it's pretty nice that its universal.

One question...If one was filming the bride and groom walking towards you - would it be difficult to do ? following all the way from the alter back to the entrance...You only get one chance to get it right...

It would be difficult for me as I am not used to manual focus, but there are professionals that all they do is focus pulling and they are amazing at their job. I would personally rely on AF and a set tracking point to the bride and groom.

works with batis lenses? they are plain surface, doesn't have teeth

Yeah Jaime, it does, because you put a rubber ring on your lens. And this ring has teeth. You don't need to have teeth on the focus ring. Just make sure you make the rubber ring tight and you will be good to go 💪
