Really thorough review. Got a cheapo tripod and was thinking this would be an affordable upgrade but you just save me from making the same mistake i did with the cheapo. I'll wait it out until i can afford something more stable on heavy rigs, thanks for making this review

for the screws getting loose I recommend using a small dab of blue locktite on a side of the screw (obviously besides the screw that goes into your camera tripod socket). it makes a significant difference

You should always have two screws attatching your camera to the plate. That is a plate and screw issue and not a tripod issue.

These are lighter more compact tripods yes and don’t have as much screws. For smaller dslr/mirrorless cameras, we do not find this to be to big of an issue. Thank you for your input!

Regarding the video head coming loose from the ball head, your ball head should have screws or bolts to secure the connection from underneath. Take a look. Q: Does the tilt lock on the left side allow for light friction to aid with smooth tilts, or is it only for locking the tilt position?

Hey! Thank you so much for commenting this. I saw your comment last week just before I headed off to a wedding and was able to tighten the tripod in time for the wedding! In regards to the tilt lock, it does give little friction but I wouldn’t say its very smooth. I often just end up keeping it lose and holding the camera under my arm to stabilize it if that makes sense.
