Жыл бұрынMax McMurdo has done it! He’s built possibly the smallest off road micro camper in the world, perfect for solo camping. With an external roll cage, roof tent, kitchen, dinning room, shower and most importantly flags.
Now he’s hitting the road to test out the camper and experience that van life while meeting some new friends.

You have done a great project that is well thought out. You were thinking outside the box. I lifted my Smart and added larger tires and fender flares. I did a rooftop basket that was meant to be a front carrier rack on a 4 wheeler. I used the same light bar and the same square lights on all 4 corners of the basket as you. You will be surprised at how well it goes through the woods. I did a front bull bar but haven't done a winch yet. People in SUV's looked down on me in traffic and would use 5 gallons of gas just to get around me. Now it sits higher and looks meaner and bigger. It's 6.5 feet to the top of my basket so I get noticed for the right reasons and even look down on some SUV's. I've had over 30 cars and trucks in my lifetime, but none have captured my heart like the Smart. So I know how you feel about your little project. I hope you do more with it because I will be watching you for new ideas. Thanks for a set of great videos.

I go away from the city and have a little tailgate party with my Smart ForTwo. The sound system is excellent and by opening up the tailgate the music comes out exactly where I’m sitting drinking my coffee looking at nature on a warm evening. I need that stove lol.

Absolutely brilliant. I have a cargo platform on the back of my Smart car. It carries my Tent Cot. I am off camping this week. Looking forward to testing out my new Trangia Alcohol Stove.

Your dinner table is brilliant. I may laugh myself sick, but the whole thing is so damned cute! Your kitchen box, yeah, it's pretty high. Maybe put legs on it so you can stand it on the ground? Why is it so big? Is there water and a propane tank inside? Perhaps make the sink and stove section into a unit that lifts and moves forward, lower, over the tailgate. Of course, I am thinking that you actually intend to use this adorable little camper. Good job, though.

Your flag holders could also double as bottle rocket launching tubes, a la Colin Furze...... LOL Also, for your 'kitchen', maybe some folding legs on the bottom to set it up behind the car and have a good height.

Roof tent does come with an awning, we left it out so you could fully take in the Smart car in all it's glory!

The most skill was in the external roll cage... I did my full roll cage and front/rear/side bumpers at a muffler shop for my Manx Dunebuggy. You could even use stainless. It is great fun bending and adjusting the pieces. The results are awesome. Try it!

I have a SMART soft top, wish someone would do this to mine, those wheels are awesome, don't need the tent on foot but the off road wheels would be great down here in Somerset on the muddy country roads. Those big tractors might think twice about forcing me into a ditch with a rig up like that. Haven't laughed so much in ages.😅😂. Thanks for cheering my evening.
