If popping a pill could make you smarter and increase your memory would you take it? In this cinematic POV documentary, Nik Badminton travels to Silicon Valley and immerses himself in the real world of bio-hacking and smart drugs as depicted by Hollywood films like Lucy and Limitless. As Nik tries drugs and treatments recommended by people in the business of self-optimization, he begins to question the bio-hacking movement and asks: are we losing sight of what makes us human?

Meditation and healthy food, sleep, excercise will improve your intelligence more than any pill and without side effects. If you really wanna take something just microdose psilocybin/DMT + lion's mane + niacin

I have found that taking nootropics is a sign that we feel insecure about the challenges that lay ahead. We feel that we can't handle the workloads that we set out for ourselves so we design a system to give ourselves some sort of confidence. Unfortunately this is not the best way to handle that insecurity. The better way is to develop a good diet, a strong routine based on circadian rhythm, and perhaps just take some natural supplements that are known to be good for brain health. Because ultimately these things that amp you up, will contribute to a harder burnout. I've tried it all, and took a lot of modafinil when I found myself traveling a lot for work. I felt like a zombie, and I believe this is because it was constantly working in my system to rob my sleep. At any rate, one night I decided to put those and some other pills in a protein shake filled with isopropyl alcohol. To sum up this rant, all I can say is that a sustainable route to who you want to be is best, and that if you look deep enough, life is not all about how much work you can get done.

When he says "we used to work with our hands", I'm an electrician, what does he mean by this?
@bittergourdcake
@bittergourdcake 6 ай бұрын
When someone says "we used to work with our hands," they're likely referring to a time when manual labor or physical skills were more emphasized in their profession. In this context as an electrician, it could suggest a shift from more hands-on, practical tasks to potentially more technologically or digitally focused aspects of the job.
@carpediemus
@carpediemus 6 ай бұрын
It's just that I know a lot of people in construction, all different trades, who have a very hands on experience every day. At the end of the day there are millions of people making places, with their hands, that all of us live in or work in.The bourgeois idea that we all advance together as a society doesn't take into consideration that the people who actually do the manual work, are somehow less than the thinkers who declare that manual work is practically over. Outsourcing jobs to developing nations misses what happens to the people here, who did the jobs before. Once the jobs of the bourgeois thinkers are under threat, where all of the top notch thinking is done elsewhere, leaves them looking into manual jobs they might be able to do, just to earn a bit of money. When this happens on a large scale all of the grand thinking that we all move forward together, is gone. If outsourced jobs to developing nations help raise the people there out of poverty, manual jobs we are speaking of at the moment, what does this do for our own people here. Don't drink the intellectual Kool-Aid and look at what is happening to people in your own community. People are hurting, us proles first and next, our very worthwhile intellectuals will feel it.@@bittergourdcake

8:53 At the beginning of the video, there's a peak of pride as humans witness the "greatness" of manipulating the environment. However, in the end, the environment responds with a skeptical tone, saying, "Really? How great are we at manipulation, or is it just our intelligence that traps us in the nonsense? It's as if mocking the confidence of humans, which is now reduced to a big question mark. Our lives seem like an absurd play where we are the main actors, but do we truly know the plot? 😂

I have ADHD ... Well I don't know ... I see the effect of the so called "smart drugs" just as same as my ADHD symptoms. In fact I have been looking for a "smart drugs" to avoid or eliminate my ADHD symptoms, but enhancing my IQ. The modafinil thing is not too different with any ADHD prescription, focus but not enhancing IQ.. If those are the result ... I think I'll just live my ADHD live. If it is a "smart drugs" it must enhance the IQ, it must .. If it isn't, where is the "smart" things?

Medicine for this and that. How does each medication know exactly what to work on in the body system with interfering with the healthy organ?? It's not possible for each medication to only work on the issue it's for in the body. So every organ is going be treated with all the medications that it's not needed and then the whole body system is systematic and breaks down into more and more sickness. And that's what people are taking medicine will never get better because one thing leads to another problem.

Back in 70s and 80s it's was only a few doctors and few sick people. And one doctor cover for all the complain in sickness. There was no doctor for every different sickness of the body. And most of ailments that are around nowadays wasn't existed then. I never heard of Parkinson, Alzheimer, children with down syndrome, dimension, MS multiple seriossis, and so many more aliments that are around now.wasnt around then. Even eyes diseases wasn't around. I don't remember seeing anyone wearing eye glasses and people complaining that they can't see. Not even cancer was so common in those days like it's nowadays. So some thing had gone wrong in the society that we're living in some parts of the world. There are more sickness in some places of the world than others parts. Could it be the artificial food we're eating causing most of the problem in people's body??
