We use our smart lock all the time. When I turn down my street a simple “hey siri unlock my door” while we fill our hands with grocery bags, kids backpacks, work bags, or big bags of charcoal for the bbq grill. I just wish I had a system to actually turn the door knob and open the door for me. 😂

I love that idea. There’s never enough hands with kids around!

You can see if you’re room is occupied or unoccupied right in the Ecobee app to determine if system is picking up presence in each room to determine if it’s catching it with your kids.

Thanks for sharing your smart home look forward to more videos. I can’t wait to move into my new house should be done next month. I have acquired a lot of smart devices and looking forward to building it out in my new smart home. Really jealous you have radiant heated floors in some of your rooms. I wish I looked into that especially for my bathrooms.

How exciting! Best of luck with the new house. The radiant heated floors are indeed very nice for bathrooms. :-)

A lot of overlap with my system. My mini splits (Mitsubishi) all have Aidoo Airzone modules attached giving me control over them with an app. Not really automation, but convenient when I want to control them and not have to run around the house. I tried Sensibo infrared modules, which has nicer scheduling but the infrared system was less reliable than the Airzones which plug directly into the mini split’s controller board. Mitsubishi’s own modules are awful. Really liking the new Lutron Caseta dimmer design, much faster and intuitive to use, plus can be wired with a dumb three way switch. Also can use the app to set the max and min brightness preferences instead of knowing the secret to doing it on the old design. Been thinking about how I never use the actual ecobee thermostats because the app is always in my pocket. We only have 1 Lutron shade and just use it to block the sunrise in the bedroom. No automation, just with a Pico remote and occasionally with Siri. One of my favorite things. We had the Rachio at our old house and it was great but I don’t know how to connect it to our lake pump based system. Been enjoying your channel. Would like to hear more about your solar system.

Good to know on the mini split modules. I think my needs are probably similar to yours as well, with mainly wanting to remotely control them as needed. Thanks for adding your helpful perspective and for your encouragement! ❤️
