In this video, I walk through three common smart minecart unloaders and discuss potential improvements. Then I show you how to build my own version of a smart minecart loader (skip to 05:16 for how to build). My smart loader combines the best aspects of existing versions while making it more compact and without using any pistons. See full list of items required to build at the bottom of the description.

I've created a world download for this design on Planet Minecraft (link in the description). I hope this helps with any troubleshooting! The world download also has a modified design to work with chest minecarts. Feel free to modify the designs to fit your needs!

I appreciate the compactness, but is there an option for chestminecarts like you can use with the other two?
@SeaJayPlays

@ianmills9800 Hi, that's a good question! I've never used chest minecarts so I hadn't thought about that. There is a pretty simple way to modify the current design to work with chest minecarts though! All you've got to do is move the double chest 1 block up; then place a hopper above the yellow block (under the chest) and face it toward the target block; lastly, just rotate the orientation of the gate 90 degrees (so the hitbox of the minecart goes into the hopper). I've also created a world download on Planet Minecraft that has some screenshots of the modified design if you want to check that out. Link in the description!

What if there is no items in the system? Is it possible to stop the minecart from going back and forth until there is items again?
@SeaJayPlays
@SeaJayPlays Ай бұрын
Hi @annamaria13hansen, that's a good question! There are a couple quick modifications you could make to the system if you don't want the minecart always running: 1) If you want to keep the system logic all the same, but you just want an optional manual on/off switch so you can determine when you want the cart to go, all you would need to do is add a lever (or redstone signal) to one of the top yellow blocks behind the chest. This would force the redstone torch off (so gate closed) when you want. 2) If you want a more automatic process, you could simply remove the chest detection circuit (top circuit). Then the only thing that would allow the minecart to leave is if the minecart fills with the correct amount of items (based on the barrel). There are a couple downsides with this though. First, if you don't have enough items in the chest to fill the minecart to the right amount, the minecart could have items but still be stuck behind the gate. And second, every time the minecart comes back to the loader, it will pause behind the closed gate and wait until the minecart detection circuit powers the gate open, so it just slows down the process a bit. There could be a way to add a smart feature to the system that does what you want while keeping everything else the same, but I think it would require a t-flip-flop. I haven't found a way to do it yet though, but I will keep trying. And once 1.21 comes out with the copper bulbs, we could probably make it really compact too.

for some reason the second comparatopr doesnt lit up when the minecart is there can i have some help?
@SeaJayPlays
@SeaJayPlays 14 күн бұрын
@Mesenwho_ Sure, I'd be happy to help! I'm not 100% sure which comparator you are talking about so I'll cover a couple cases. Also, let me ask a few questions so we're on the same page: Is your minecart getting stuck in the loading position? Are there any items in your loading chest? How many items are in your barrel? First, if you are talking about the comparator coming from the barrel, the two back prongs will only light up when the barrel has items in it. If there are no items in the barrel, the comparator won't light up. This isn't necessarily a problem and only affects how soon the minecart is released. If there are no items in the barrel, the minecart will only stop for a brief moment then leave. To make the minecart stay longer and collect more items, just add some stacks to the barrel. The front prong for all three of the comparators won't ever light up (cause we aren't in subtract mode). Second, if you are talking about the comparator coming from the detector rail, there are several scenarios where the comparator will not light up and the system is still working properly, so your system might not be broken right now. The comparator will only light up when your minecart has more than the number of items required by the barrel. For example, if your barrel is half full then the system will release the minecart when it is half full. But because there is some delay, the minecart will fill with some more items, so the minecart will end up being more than half full (assuming you have enough items in the load chest). Then the comparator will light up. Other than that, the comparator shouldn't light up, and that's okay. As long as your minecart stops and pulls items from the chest then it should be working. If your chest is empty though, the minecart will only stop briefly (the comparator should not light up) and this is okay, too. Let me know if this helps or if you've got some more questions!

@@SeaJayPlaysthe comparator coming from the barrel it works and everything and i built everything the same way in the video its just that the barrel mechanism doesnt work the minecart only goes when the chest is empty and i filled the barrel up in every way possibe i filled it up half way, 75%, 25%, and all the way up and nothing worked i dont know whats wrong Ps. Thx for the fast response😊

@Mesenwho_ I'm happy to help troubleshoot! I appreciate you sticking with this design even though it's not working properly, yet. If the back two prongs of the comparator from the barrel are lighting up, that is a good sign. There are a couple tricky things about the design that I'll go over to double check everything is in order. If none of the things I mention help fix the problem, I've also got a world download in the description and you could check out the build up close to see if that helps. The first thing is that I am playing on Java edition. If you're on Bedrock I'm not sure if this design works. Second, the block next to the fence gate must be a target block. The target block pulls in the redstone signal unlike other blocks. The third thing could be the redstone dust on top of the barrel, double check you've got redstone coming out from the repeater on the bottom and up onto the barrel (this will then feed into the target block). The last thing I can think of is to make sure the rail under the minecart is a detector rail. If the comparator coming from the minecart does not light up then that means it is not reading the minecart's signal strength (because it needs a detector rail). Let me know if any of these help fix the issue! Again, if you want to check out the world download, you can get a much closer look, so that might help even more.

@@SeaJayPlays i think i ik the problem but to start things of i use Java just like you so no issues there but the comparator doesnt light up when the detector rail goes of idk why?
@SeaJayPlays
@SeaJayPlays 9 күн бұрын
@Mesenwho_ So the comparator coming from the detector rail does not light up when the full minecart is on it? If so, that's very strange, and I'm not sure what could cause that. The barrel signal strength is determining when the detector rail comparator will light up. So let's say the barrel is full: then the minecart will need to be full (detector rail is sending a full signal to it's comparator) for the gate to open and release the minecart. If your comparator coming from the detector rail is not ever lighting up then it must not be pulling a signal from the detector rail. I'd double check to make sure the detector rail and comparator are at the same level. Is there any way you could post some screenshots to an image sharing site so I could see? I really want to help get this fixed for you, and that might make it easier. Edit: If you go to my PlanetMinecraft account, I think you can send me messages with images there.

Hopper leading into that chest broke it. idk how to solve it. The main supply chest
@SeaJayPlays
@SeaJayPlays 20 күн бұрын
@xCEEYAx Hey, sorry to hear it's not working. I've just tested out adding a hopper and chest feeding into the main chest to see if I could break it, but it seems to be working for me. There are a couple things that I'm thinking could cause issues: The first depends on how full your barrel is. Since a hopper will feed into the chest while the minecart is pulling from the chest, the minecart will pull items that the hopper just put into the chest (a lot slower than items that are already in the chest). So this could lead to uneven filling of the minecart, and if your barrel is set very full/full, you might not have enough items in the minecart to release it. The fix here would just be to lower the number of items in your barrel. The only other issue I can think of right now is if another system is interfering with the loader. If your barrel is already low enough and there's no other systems around, I'd recommend checking out the world download for the loader I put in the description. This way you can test out adding hoppers/chests and make sure everything is laid out properly. One note, since hoppers fill chests very slowly, if your minecart empties the main chest, then you put items into your hopper, the main chest will start filling very slowly. And because items fill so slow into the main chest, the minecart will keep stopping at the chest, take the few items that the hopper put into the chest, and then leave quickly cause the circuits are reading the main chest as empty (the hopper is too slow to fill, so when the minecart takes the last item, it reads empty, then the minecart leaves, then the hopper places the next item in the chest). The system here isn't necessarily broken, but the minecart will be going back and forth a lot more than normal. If this is the problem you've got, there are a couple solutions I've described in some other comments, but I'd recommend putting an on/off switch on the system (just power one of the two yellow blocks behind the main chest on the main chest layer). This way, you can force the gate to be closed which will keep the minecart in while your hopper slowly fills the chest. Then when the chest is full enough for you or you just want the minecart to go again, you can just release the off switch and it'll start again. Let me know if this helped.

This Is My Comment Saying That I Actually Made The Best Loader, Where The MINECAFT sits In The Loader Section Itself No Matter, If You Feed Some items It Still Sits There Until the Items Are Complete, And Moves Automatically With The Max Capacity , And Comes Back And Sits There Again Disadvantage: If AUnloader Broken And The Minecart Still Brings Back The Items To Loader, Then The Loader Could Break The System, So Make Sure We Have Proper Unloader That Sucks The Entire Items..( I Build This System Just I Don't Like Minecraft Moving All The time) I am Not Interested In Uploading A Video, But If You Guys Want I can Share You My Creative World Of Copy

Not sure if you are on Java or Bedrock, but while creating your version in Java the initial comparator placed has the back 2 prongs lit up when placed (where they are not in the video), then same for the the first repeater which breaks the build.
@SeaJayPlays
@SeaJayPlays Ай бұрын
Hey, I also play on Java. Let me know what you mean by breaking the build. I'll try to explain some parts for now to see if that helps. The default state of the wooden gate is closed, then the redstone torch forces it open. So when the chest is empty, there is no signal from the comparator to the repeater to the torch (i.e. the torch stays lit and the gate is open). This is what we want, right, because if there are no items in the chest to collect, we just want the minecart to keep going and not get stopped. If there are items in the chest (any at all), the comparator will light up. The repeater is just pulling the signal of the comparator, so the two will always match. If the comparator is lit up (i.e. there are items in the chest), then the redstone torch will be inverted (powered off) and the wooden gate should close. Since your comparator (and repeater) light up when you are building it, then the chest must have items in it. If your chest has no items and all the blocks have been placed in the correct locations, then I'm not sure what could be going wrong. Are there any potential redstone power sources close by? Is there any way for you to send me a screenshot so I can help figure out what is messing up?
