Back in the mid-90s, I saw a wonderful exhibit of quilts at the Milwaukee Art Museum. There were some really stunning pieces there! My favorite was a 1910s-1920s block quilt with quarter-circle arcs in each block, all arranged at different angles and in different colors. The material was all top-quality felt, remnants from the quilter’s full-time job as a milliner.

At 1:52 dance to disrupt. • songs = verses of experience • quilt = general + specific; • unification of the verses : universe 🔻🔺 is the inspired thinking your video causes for us in this moment 🙏🏽

It took me a second to appreciate what the pattern was doing. 😅 I dig the aesthetic, though. Bonus for it being corduroy - I miss that fabric... It reminds me of my youth even though I barely owned one garment made from it - either pants or overalls. I hope they were overalls. Aside from the dynastic aspect of this, I love the names these quilts were given - especially "Drunkards Path," lol. The "evil travels" detail was intriguing. My Jamaican-American heritage missed that, but I can imagine a southern grandfather in a rocking chair on a porch saying exactly that. The q&a at the end was sweet. ❤
