You guys got me again - I certainly wasn't expecting a necklace made of bear claws, but here we are. 😅 This is fascinating. I've enjoyed hearing about the many natural elements that go into Native American art.

I wonder if the man who visited the necklace in the museum, or his tribe might like to have it back, especially since it has such a spiritual significance. It is great to learn more about the aboriginal people of America. I hope someone can answer my question.

Are these actually grizzly claws or replicas carved from bone or wood? The reason I ask is that the claws look really uniform and they have plugs in holes that were drilled previously. The Indians actually carved claws once they almost obliterated the Griz population and real claws were getting harder to obtain.
