Thanks for the tour Phil, and Congrats Susan. Really like the oak. My impression from other videos is that the interior of the 442 is not as spacious as the larger boats. Presumably this is a natural consequence of scaling things down, but it almost feels like things should have been designed differently to better handle the tighter dimensions. Maybe different finishes would help that, like half smooth white on upper half of the walls and veneers only on lower half. You have very talented interior designers. Ask them to consider this issue. I do understand that a performance boat will have narrow hulls, etc., but I do feel the interior design could be adjusted to compensate for the perception of space.

Hi, I’m Susan, Thank you for your input. I’m also an interior designer and designed my own boat. Many boats have opted for the different finishes. I chose all wood because of the longevity of the finish and warmth. That’s the benefit of buying a Balance, you can design it your way.

Phil, beautiful vessel. I've heard escape hatches are not mandatory now. Do customers have the option not to have them installed?

I have not heard this, but if so, we’d love to eliminate escape hatches. The ABYC have never demanded them, but CE does, and CE is a European protectionist measure in that unless you build a boat to CE no European can flag it. For this reason we must always do the boats to CE to sustain customer resale value.
