As the documented cases and concerns surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) increase, we know that many riders are thinking about how to best protect their families, both two-legged and four-legged. We know there are many questions about how coronavirus affects horses, so we had Dr. Lydia Gray, SmartPak’s Staff Veterinarian, Research & Medical Director, ask Dr. Frank Andrews of the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine some of the most common coronavirus questions we’ve heard.
00 Introduction to Dr. Frank Andrews
38 Can my horse get COVID-19 if an infected person handles him?
08 Can I get COVID-19 from my horse?
57 Do horses get some form of coronavirus?
53 What do I do if I think my horse might have equine coronavirus?
18 In regards to social distancing, should I keep a routine vet/farrier appointment that was already scheduled?
34 What should I do if my horse becomes injured or ill or has an emergency during this time of social distancing?
