It encompasses a wide range of techniques, forms, and styles. One of the distinctive features of Shaolin Kung Fu is its animal-inspired forms, where practitioners mimic the movements and characteristics of animals like the tiger, crane, snake, leopard, and dragon. These forms are not only used for combat but also serve as a way to develop specific physical attributes and learn principles of movement. We were lucky enough to witness a thrilling performance of Shaolin Kung Fung on Hong Kong’s Lantau Island, under the shadow of the Giant Buddha (also known as Tian Tan Buddha), near the beautiful Po Lin Monastery.
