For me apple is the best, but as I can't afford one I just got a watch from watchplaystore, just google them, and I'm really satisfied with it, great battery life and features too

That's cool bro! I'm happy you got your hands on something you enjoy. 🍎 charges a lot of 💰 just because it's 🍎... I'm an Android user myself n' I just purchased the Galaxy active 2 even tho the Galaxy 4 ⌚ just came out & I could have got that for like $50 more, the active 2 is more than enough for me & + Amazon gave me a really good warranty thru asurion. But after tax the warranty it was about 270 bucks lol adds up quick!

Cool overview, thanks for that! I currently use a Samsung Active 2 and only two flaws for me are battery life (I did set it up to be able to make calls without my phone - so yes this does impact battery but still would be cool of it did last longer). Second is the Samsung propriatary setup without standard google Integration. What i missed in your video were two things. Standardized fully android integration vs. custom overlay (as described above) and the charger. Is it QI which you can charge kinda anywhere or does it come with an propriatary charger that i Always have to pack additionally.

Great video, Mike! I've been getting an itch for another new watch. The Galaxy 3 has been a main contender for me. I can't wait to see the Citizen CZ Smart Watch that is supposed to be coming. I'm really trying to hold out on this one before buying anything. I already have an original, round face, Garmin Venu that is serving me well currently.

Hi Mike, when would you recommend Active2 over Watch 3? I am looking for mainly sport tracking and music (can I leave my phone at home if I download music? Does it still track the speed and distance?). Checking notifications and other features are nice-have's. My wrist is tiny, so it seems like Active2 would fit my hand better and I prefer the minimalist style more.

I finally upgraded from a Gear S3 Frontier to the 45mm Watch 3 LTE on Samsung cyber Monday sale. Only $219.00 tax included with my watch as a trade in. Just hated to give up MST payment support but hey, I can just use my Z Fold 2 instead when needed. Great Video as always!

Coming from a buggy Wear OS watch, I migrated to Galaxy Watch 46mm. Even though being an older model, I'm so satisfied. Super stable OS and excellent connection with my Android phone, amazing battery life with always on display (2 days +), GPS, HR and often on sale at bargain prices.

Hi..I have been watching before purchasing a new smart watch. Thanks for your great reviews! I must admit all the differences can be overwhelming! Mu most favorite smartwatch ever has been the old Samsung gear 2. I had a Garmin Vsnt and then a fitbit inspire which each only lasted a year before they broke. I loved it for being able to take pics, listen to music. When you download the app to allow camera usage on your watch not sure how this works. Also I think you said the Samsung s2 may be getting ekg capabilities? Not that this is a deal breaker. I also like being able to find my phone. Which watch would you say is closest to the old gear 2? By the way my phone is Samsung s9. Thanks for any advice!

Fantastic review, Happy with the Watch Active 2 for many reasons, having owned S3 Frontier, and Galaxy Watch, so it was more of a change of style for me. As for hybrids, I've checked them out and as nice as they look and as good a battery life as they definitely have, they're very much lacking in the range of smartwatch features I would expect to have. I have noticed a lot of deals available for hybrids where I live and ironically one retailer was giving away a Fossil hybrid gift with the bigger screen Samsung QLED TV!! I found that funny.. Why not a Watch Active 2 or GW.? Lol. I think hybrids fall between too stools to some extent, they're not true smartwatches, and many people who want a real mechanical watch will likely go for a good quality brand and possibly have a 60 dollar fitness band for workouts.

Hey Mike still debating about what to get. I am torn between a Galaxy Active and a Garmin. I like to listen to music on basic workouts, would like to count steps and elevation while biking. Would like some sort of assistance calls and texts not required but would be nice. Can these watches connect via Bluetooth without the outrageous pricejump to get LTE?

Could you do a 1 year revisit of the Fossil Hybrid HR? There have been a myriad of updates (notification support for all apps, workouts with gps tracking with your phone, watch face options, challange friends, adjust settings like vibration and lighting, etc) since your review last November and could probably get a special mention or outright most recommended Hybrid watch

@Mike O'Brien - love this video thanks for your time effort bringing this content! I am still rocking Gen 1 Huawei and its getting long in tooth but I'm in the 1st category style! Key for me is round face with Sapphire Crystal front face.... Huawei Watch gen 1 was the only watch then outside of Apple that sported Sapphire Crystal you had Tag Huer too but astronomically $$$$ out of range. Moto is nice but I dont think its Saphirre Crystal but tech specs dont spell it out? Samsung is nice but Gorilla glasss... Apple is square... any confirmation of Saphire for Moto? or recommend any other round with saphire? thank in advance!!! PS. Must run Watchmaker pro so that I can use all of my custom skins... :)

There are so many watches out now, and you picked ones I don't use! You tend to prefer the round faced watches, and I do not, so that's part of the difference. I have used the Garmin Vivosmart 4 (very good, but not great; especially lacking in good sleep tracking; consistently showed HR much lower than other bands), the Fitbit Charge 3 (similar to your Charge 4, with no GPS; I liked it, but it died), the Amazfit X (aesthetically the winner but don't bother; terrible accuracy in GPS, distance, HR, and sleep; unreliable; I sold it), and the Fitbit Versa 3 (the winner for me! I love this watch, aesthetically and feature-wise!). Thanks for the great review! Always interested in learning about tech I have not tried!

I like this categorization. I can say Amazfit Bip S is also a really very powerful smart watch for a small device. It is affordable and has a not bad translective display, battery life of 2 weeks of extensive use, GPS, notifications, accurate heart monitoring, the basic essential workout modes, and a very friendly and basic phone app interface. All that now is only for less than a 100 dollar.

Great video. My opinion on best watches are garmin fenix sapphire or the solar, also garmin forerunner 945. But they are not for everybody and I get that. But the fenix 6x sapphire and solar would be my pick for the off the grid watch. Gotta be the best watch on earth!

I literally just bought the Galaxy Active 2 today.. It's the LTE version and it fits my needs and the wallet just nice. I had the Gear Fit2 Pro before this and moving up to the Active 2 suffice for me.. I just need the fitness tracking and the LTE for connectivity when im outside exercising without my phone with me.. The other functions are a bonus for me.. Aesthetically it's more appealing to me with its simple round face as compared to the squarish or the business kinda look like the Watch 3..

I watched your comparison between the galaxy watch 3 and the active 2. I opted for the cheaper while Costco had it on sale and a nice return policy if I didn’t like it. I love it..... I thought I would be missing the bevel because I was replacing a 3 year old Samsung watch with one, the active 2 has a similar function even though it doesn’t have a physical moving outer bevel so for being far cheaper, I made the right decision. Costco had a bonus pack of 2 charging stands for it so I have one living in carryon for traveling. Love that in a jam I can get a charge from my note 10 phone.

I bought the ticwatch pro previous version last year. I returned it the same day, it was terrible. I then picked up the Garmin vivoactive 3. My one annoyance with the Garmin, is the button in the middle, when I'm working out my wrist tends to press the button and cause issues. I would like to get the Galaxy watch 3, however it is missing the compass and Cadence Sensor. The vivoactive 4 has it as well as the new Apple watch. I'll have to wait another year to see if Samsung catches up with what the others are doing.

I purchased a Galaxy Fit2 , after it updated it went out to lunch!!! Samsung support was unable to help so I'm returning it. My phone is a Google Pixel 2

The Garmin Vivomove is a really nice watch and syncs nicely with Garmin Connect. However I found the data screens faded over time and now are completely blank. I accidentally replaced it as my prime watch on Garmin Connect, and in that I can not see the data, I can not reconnect to Garmin Connect. So in the drawer it goes, to be replaced.

I love the fossil hybrid hr, I use it daily, I love the 2 weeks of battery.

Same, worn it everyday for the past year and it's been great. Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 or Ticwatch Pro 3 is tempting. Withings ScanWatch I really want to try too.

Yes it is a good watch. Just be careful not to drop it. I dropped mine knee high and the minute pointer is off. Sent for repair since it was still under warranty but fossil asked $100 for a repair! Never again. Now I am using Garmin vivomove3 hybridwatch. Less appealing as a smartwatch but far more durable and also a superior tracker. I never took it off my wrist unless for charging for every 2 weeks or so.

Glad you liked it! I try to shake things up from time to time on the channel. I aim for a healthy mix of watches, earbuds, and phones, but sometimes smart speakers and stuff of that nature make their way onto the channel :)

I just bought my second Samsung galaxy Active 2 (first one ended up getting zapped by an MRI machine) for $179. Outside of the health monitoring aspect the software and SpO2 hardware, it's identical to the Galaxy Watch 3. In between those, I went with a galaxy fit 2, and although I was impressed with a $60 wearable, I highly suggest the Active 2.

Hey... I am using the Huawei GT 2 with my note 20 ultra, and i am very impressed by this one... he is shipper than the galaxy watch (half of a price here in brazil) and has a 12 to 14 days battery!! And is very accurate in the gym or outside in parks! I think is a nice option for android users!

I agree... I had the S3 Frontier, then the Galaxy Watch and then felt I needed a design change and went for Watch Active 2, and the big open face is very nice. The watch is light and better than the heavier Galaxy Watches for fitness tracking. Only issue I had is that as a climber I worried about smacking it against a rock, it has no bezel protection, but found very cheap silicon covers that I use when on the peaks. I call them my Watch condoms!! Very effective.

Another great watch for apple users in my opinion is the one that I use the series 4 I have used it since I got it and it still works amazing and it kind of sucks that they discontinued it
