5:40-6:08 Mario's a generic character, free of (almost) all gimmicks (such as a sword, shine, tipper), furthermore, his combos are very versatile, whilst not invalidating their target's stock (such as Ken Combo, Shine Infinites, Rest Combos), and all of his recovery options are useful, yet simplistic (no stage-grappling, teleport stalling, shine-stalling, etc.) Everything Mario has is effective, yet predictable; Aside from Cape-Gimmicks you will seldom get surprised by Mario's moveset, within a few minutes of gameplay you will have the same fundamental knowledge of Mario as your opponent, creating a sense of transparency that other characters lack (YL, for example has secret gimmicks like Air Glide-Toss, Fox and Falco have Shine-Cancel technicalities, etc.) Mario requires the usage of almost all of his tools (of which are all rather basic), and thus cannot be deemed "cheap" like other characters whom's viability depends on spamming one or two moves (many Smash 4 characters suffer from this, as well as a few Melee ones). The most balanced matchup in the game isn't simply a ditto, it's-a _Mario ditto._

You gotta love they did the mario young link for the fans. I wish Axe would compete more. Easily one of my favorite players. There are very VERY few occasions I root against him and thats only when its someone like amsa who deserves to win a major finally or some other underdog. But 99% of the time I am wanting axe to dominate.
