I wore my NARS foundation to the dentist I had no idea I was going to be having my teeth cleaned with water and the girl spraying it all over me and my face looked incredible like nothing happened at all I was AMAZED!!! I really love the HALO Smashbox and I tried the new Mac and I was surprised how much it was like the NARS light reflecting foundation 🤍🤍🤍🍀🍀🍀

As a redhead with freckles, incredibly white body skin (but not my face), and flushing with any exertion, I hear ya about being teased mercilessly! Up until my 40's, people would walk up to me in grocery stores, malls, etc just to tell me how white I was. "WOW! You're so white!" I haven't worn shorts in public in 30 years, and I live in the Houston swamp. Im with you on just covering it up if it makes you feel better! Great video, as always 👍

I can relate and sympathize to merciless teasing as well growing up. I, too, was always extremely pale. Couple the pale skin with deep, dark brown hair, and I was teased horrendously. I was called ghost, why don't I get some sun, vampire. You name it. Needless to say, I fake tan often in the summer to just have some color. I don't where shorts either. Capri pants are my friend😉

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I was called "ghost" a lot too or even asked "do you feel ok?" because of my pale skin. I started fake baking around age 22, up until 40. Then I finally decided to embrace my pale skin and not care what anyone else thought or said about it. I do get that redness on my chin and THAT drives me the most nuts. I've used the Clinique Redness Reducer Foundation for years, because it's the only foundation that truly covers it...but now that I'm 51, and perimenopausal, my skin is becoming drier and that foundation is pretty thick (I never have to use very much though) but it is also drying. I've tried so many of these new "skin care" type foundations, most have Niacinamide in them and my face HATES that stuff, breaks out with painful cystic acne, which then takes forever to clear up. She didn't mention this foundation had Niacinamide in it, just the Hyaluronic Acid. So, I think I'll take a look at the full ingredients and maybe try it. I don't wear makeup everyday and if I do it's only for a few hours, so hopefully it won't have time to break down on my chin. You ladies have a great day!

@mlmartin2922 , I can totally relate😔 I was also always asked if I was anemic.🙄 My self-esteem is still affected by it all, so I still continue to tan. The perimenopausal symptoms do not help my self-esteem as my skin is changing, and I am finding it more difficult to get the same results as I used to. I'll have to try the clinique foundation that you mentioned. The Smashbox foundation just wasn't my jam. If I have to work hard to make a foundation work, then to me, it's not worth it. I'm not sure if it contains niacinamide. I also have issues with niacinimide that causes break outs. I do hope it works for you if you decide to try it.😊

I am the same, I refuse to put fake tanner after using it, I went to a wedding I still burnt 3 hours with sunscreen 😢

@@beachfrost3367 I do have low iron at times, but have only been truly anemic once, years ago. I did not try the Smashbox one...I think because it has squalene or glycerin as a top ingredient, 2 more things that give me huge, painful acne. Try the Clinique Redness one, there are other products in the line for redness, but none of them ever did much. And like I said, use the foundation sparingly, you can always build it up.

This foundation was a blind buy for me but I haven’t used it yet and kept it for a special occasion (as sometimes we makeup junkies purchase stuff and forget about that), but I’m glad that it passed your review test and now I can use it blindly. Good to see you back and take care you too.❤❤❤

I love the red tint in your hair! The streaks and highlights are so pretty! 🤩 That palette is getting a lot of attention lately, for good reason. It's gorgeous! 💚💜🐲 I'd take the Jeep to Batteries Plus. They'll test it and replace it right there for you. It could also be a loose battery connection on one or both cables.

LOLOLOLOL You know I don't throw around the word "obsessed" but I haven't felt this way about an eyeshadow palette in a VERY long time. I have to force myself NOT to use it. I've already almost hit pan on that top row shade a few from the right that is that lighter tone with the pinkish shift. omg.

Hi Shelly! I have dry skin and live in the desert. I have an old school go to product that works for me. If I don’t have it, I suffer - Signature Club A rapid transport C night cream. I make certain it never runs out! Also, could you do a segment on primers for mature skin? I have tried Elf, Laniege, and several others and am looking for one that blurs pores, doesn’t feel like sticky glue or dry. I love the looks from your dragon palette!

I haven’t stayed at that hotel, but love the vibe of Fremont Street, too! There’s a fab pizza place down there called Pizza Rock. It’s our favorite pizza on the planet! Next time you’re there let me know. I’m only 3 ish hrs from Vegas and we are always looking for an excuse to go!

_Yes. Some car dudes can be kinda arrogant. My hubs is a handyman & he says that a jump can mask a bad battery & ur not wrong for wanting to make sure. It can start up again after shut off bc it’s got a bit of juice. If u have an Autozone or something in ur area, they will test ur battery for free. Some places will even install it for u if u purchase with them, core ur old one & the warranty comes in handy too. Hope it all worked out!_ 💪👍❤️🤓

Thank you!! Hubs was right. A week later, it died again and I took it to AutoZone and they tested and replaced it. The dealer lost out on that sale! (Dang batteries aren't cheap lol).

I'd probably lean toward the previous one only for the smidge more hydration, though in the summer they'd be pretty much indistinguishable for me.

Hey Shelley, my car did same thing, got a new battery put it and that fixed the problem. The key fob was acting up. I didn’t realize the car battery would do that.

Mine ended up being the battery too! A week later it all happened again and I took it to Auto Zone instead of the dealer and sure enough... needed the battery replaced.

The weather here in NYC is insane!! It says 38 degrees. It humidity is 81!! And still dry weather . My face soaks up everything I put on it. Ridiculous!!!!

I gave the MOB a B+ and it was very close to making it into the A range (and having worn it probably a dozen more times since I reviewed it, I'd say it's worth the bump up to the A range). I really like it for light coverage days and I absolutely love what they're doing with sustainable packaging and such. Ooooh a rare opportunity that I can say, check out Sculpted by Aimee! The Second Skin foundation is quite beautiful (and I got it at Boots while I was in Ireland). I'm guessing it would be in England as well! If you're able to access a Sephora UK, the Haus Labs foundation is a little higher in coverage but very hydrating on me and a very pretty finish. I think the brand is available there now as of this past summer. The Guerlain Terracotta foundation and NARS Light Reflecting would be my other favorites for both hydration and smoothing.

Would you be interested in testing a foundation with only 3 shades (it’s Korean), but is like 3.5 ounces for $12, or would it not be worth it? It’s SO PRETTY, and I’m so picky, but the shade range is abysmal. Their #13 is more like #21, but I like it anyway. It’s called the Enough Rich Gold Double Wear. It reminds me a lot of the Wet n Wild skin tint.

Sadly I think every woman has experienced this. I had to talk to the maintenence guy in my apartment after my dishwasher started making a terrible grinding noise and he tried to act like it was normal and I was imagining things 🙄 I'm like no dude, I've lived here for several years and it has never made that noise. I've also been dismissed by doctors for what later turned out to be a serious medical issue. The struggle is real! Sorry you experienced that! As for the foundation-eh, it's a pass for me. But I prefer a dewier finish so I'm biased haha Thanks for the video ❤

My 6-month-old tabby kitten Enzo is on my lap watching Ziva ha. Sorry about your Jeep, but at least the foundation looks good! And yyyyeah, the key fob battery is absolutely not the whole story if you needed a jump. Four years on a car battery is pretty good (at least it is in Texas where I am, thanks extreme weather!) so perhaps that's all you need [fingers crossed]

I'm thinking of staying at their sister property The D (cheaper than Circa since I don't yet have any comps for free rooms) for my spring work trip... we'll see if I can still hang on Fremont Street :) lol my recent visit it very much reminded me of the days 25 years ago when I'd stay at the Plaza for $13 a night because I couldn't afford anything else with the rest of the trip expenses! I'm either going to love the nostalgia or be over it in 12.2 seconds lol.

I tried this foundation after hearing all of the rave reviews. I wasn't impressed with it. It did appear smoothing and had good pore coverage but looked heavy. It was very visible on my skin. I also normally wear the same shades as you do but wanted to get a shade that was slightly darker but even going up a few shades, it was still way too pale. Maybe that had something to do with the results that I got with this foundation. Not sure if I'm going to give it another try but just a darker shade next time. I also didn't like how it broke apart after awhile also. Definitely not a holy grail for me. I do have a question though, I'm debating on trying the Haus Labs foundation or the new Mac Serum foundation. Out of the two, which do you prefer for smoothing and pore coverage? That sucks so bad about your Jeep. I'd have the battery voltage checked to see if it's the battery. I would also look at the alternator. Also, check for any recalls on your model that could be responsible for the non starting problem. And yes, I can't tell you how many times that I have been dismissed by male mechanics as they just look at me like🙄. Funny story, I knew as a teenager that I wanted to learn how to drive a stick shift (manual) transmission just to say that I could and also let every guy know that women are just as capable. And, I was a huge tomboy😉. Took my truck in for service and this guy runs over to drive it away and hops out immediately. He embarrassingly had to ask another co worker to drive my truck into a bay because it was a stick. He assumed it was an automatic because he saw a woman bring it in. Silly boy🤣 I'd definitely get the Jeep checked out by a reputable mechanic just to be on the safe side. I hope it doesn't give you anymore problems. Take care😊👍

😂 I worked at a car dealership in the service dept. I'm not a mechanic, but saw enough cars with obvious problems. So if I take my car in somewhere and tell them what's wrong, of course they don't believe me. Until they come back and it's exactly what I said. Frustrating, but I do like to prove the doubting male wrong sometimes 😂

@ChrissieSM , that would have been right up my alley then😃 Here in the US, vehicles are primarily automatics. You have to look hard for a manual these days. They used to be more plentiful in the years gone by, and that is why it was so much fun. It was mainly the men who drove them here. For a female to drive a manual, it was a big deal.

Oh, I hear you on the car complication and speaking to a male about it. I tend to get a bit shitty and point-blank tell them they are not speaking to a 2 year old that doesn't understand the mechanics of life on the daily. I've gone so far as to walk away from a car purchase because of the fools I was dealing with. It tickles my husband the second he knows how bad the encounter may go when the "dude" only addresses him and ignores me and any questions and pertinent information I have. Hubs doesn't do the car work, I do, replacing blower motors and more on our vehicles in the past. Here's hoping it is just the battery, fob or main, and not related to the alternator!

A week later I replaced the battery and knock on wood, so far that seems to have been the case. Dealer lost the sale on that one!

I'd say very similar - though I haven't had quite as extensive all-weather experience with the Smashbox yet. I can say from experience that the ELDW holds up to heat, humidity, sweat, and literal downpours lol.

Omg as a woman I haaaate car issues for this exact reason! Had issues with my ac. Literally not kicking on and take it to the dealer. ‘Well it’s working now so if it happens again bring it back’. ….seriously?! Ugh the worst lol.

And of course - a week later, same thing happened and I had to get the battery replaced (which is what I practically begged them to do at the dealership!) Oh well - they lost that sale! Auto Zone hooked me up lol.

I've watched mostly positive reviews on this foundation so I wanted to give it a try but IMO the shades are awful, they have a few light shades and then suddenly go too dark and extremely yellow 😳 I swatched one that looked like mustard, no kidding 😬 for that reason alone this is a pass for me, thnx for the review though, say hi to Ziva 😽 take care

Change your battery. Batteries are designed to fail before 5 yrs.

Yep a week later it died again and I ended up replacing it. I wish they would've just checked it when I asked (but I just went to Auto Zone instead... they didn't try to talk me out of anything! lol)

Gotta get assertive with the men. If they’re not listening, call the manager. Without a doubt, it takes a LOT more effort for a woman to deal with these types things than a man. That infuriates me. And it’s one of the reasons I won’t let them get away with it.
