The choice is between a shit sandwich and a very old, decomposing sandwich, one that now barely even resembles a sandwich. With the shit sandwich being more or less predictable, in a sense that you know you are about to eat shit. Meanwhile, getting the decomposing sandwich will likely mean that you might have to switch to a different sandwich mid-meal, a sandwich you didn't ask for but that will be forced down your throat nonetheless. Which is the better/safer option, at this point is genuinely hard to say. When it comes to the single most powerful position on planet Earth, a "good" man without all his mental faculties can be even more dangerous than someone inherently "bad".
