I'm late!!!

Here it is. The first SMG4 video I’ve ever watched. It’s amazing to see how much he changed since I first saw him. He went from funny to pure chaos and added a lore to it all, plus many arcs, newest one being “It’s gotta be perfect” (though 3 months later I realized it isn’t really an arc) but time really goes by quickly. It’s already been 4 years of watching him. It’s just so crazy. I really wish I knew him WAAAAY before though.

After 4 long years, I finally came back to rewatch this, and I felt a wave of nostalgia.

I love how a video with such a basic premise is the one of the most popular SMG4 videos and definitely deserves it

Just checking back on this episode after a couple years, and...OKAY, WHEN THE HECK DID THIS BECOME HIS SECOND-MOST POPULAR VIDEO?! Like, yeah it's a good episode, one of the better modern episodes in my opinion (though mostly because it's basically a classic-era episode despite being from 2019), but THAT good, THAT popular, and THAT special? Last I had checked, while this was doing well, it wasn't anywhere near on track to beat out all his most popular videos, it just kinda found its comfy spot at like 20 million views or so, but now I come back and it suddenly beat of all 3 FNAF videos and the GTA V one out of nowhere, the ones that had remained untouched for nearly their whole existence. Did something cause this episode to suddenly blow up out of nowhere a few years after it released, I mean it's almost 5 years old now! The only video this hasn't beaten now is Who Let The Chomp Out, and I don't know if that will still last now, but...why? Why is specifically this episode apparently so popular suddenly, out of all the newer ones; I never even hear many people talk about it, other than some old fans who like to call this the only good modern episode. I'm glad the video that's dethroning all the old champions isn't one of those dumb shovelware videos of Mario reacting to TikToks and stuff (though those seem to be semi-close), but I'm just confused. Is this episode really more iconic to the channel than those other classic ones? I don't think so since I've never seen that sentiment anywhere, I've never seen anyone regard this among the most iconic classics of the series. This just seems so sudden and unexpected, that this specific episode, which at the time it came out was just a decent episode to kick off 2019 and nothing more and that I thought had kinda stagnated in views after a year or two, is suddenly on track to become the most-viewed video on the channel despite WLTCO's 61 million views. What's so incredibly special and iconic about this one specific episode, out of all the ones from 2017 to now, that is causing this unprecedented influx of views? This just came out of nowhere and I'm taken aback lol. I do hope it doesn't overtake Who Let The Chomp Out though, because while I always did like this episode since the day it came out, it's just not remotely as iconic and really just feels like a random episode that's not _that_ special even if it's good, while Who Let The Chomp Out is the most iconic thing on this whole channel and deserves to stay #1. The only reason I can think of for why this episode is such an attention-grabber is its connection to the Mario goes to the fridge to get a glass of milk meme that it's based on, that's it, and I thought that meme was kinda dead by now. It's a good episode, just...I didn't think it was 53 Million Views and on track to overtake WLTCO levels of good and iconic. "What about this episode makes it more iconic to the channel and KZfaq and more earning of being the most popular video than WLTCO?" is the question I'm trying to ask I guess. This is just such a shocker and feels kinda imbalanced, random, and inexplicable. Especially since it's nothing like the other modern episodes which are what I thought was what newer fans of the channel are more into and where newer views would be going toward, this one's very old-school. I just don't know why this episode has the sheer popularity it has.
