So the main differences are: 1. More usage of GMod models than the original N64 models 2. SMG4 has his lines voiced over as opposed to being either silent or a random voice clip 3. Most of the swearing is censored And 4. The music being swapped for a copyright friendly cover instead of the original.

The OG is why i know SMG4, not because of TADC or MD, it was because of a video of Mario and Blue Mario being chased by a Chain Chomp

The remastered version is a example of copyright being a bicth

The old version was good up until the middle, but I appreciate how smoothly the remaster progressed in the latter half and how the chain chomp's expressions became more diverse. I would like to say that the remaster is about 90% of the original.

Don’t know if I prefer the original or remake just yet, but I will give major points to the latter for both adding additional emotion to the Chomp while having it retain the N64 graphics much more than the OG.

I prefer the original over the remastered one, not because of the song or the uncensored jokes or even out of nostalgia, simply for the experience and how the jokes land. The remastered just feels too oversatured in every scene, like it must be filled with sound effects every second and be over-animated like a cinematic and that every character must constantly move or have an expression and that the jokes need to take an extra second or two for it to land and even when they arrive its taped with added sound effects. Basically think of a chocolate chip cookie; people love them and the chocolate makes it great, but it's now given so many chips that it's too gooey, sweet, there's almost no dough and reeks of chocolate, thats about the equivalent of the sound effects and animated scenes used in the videos, every time someone walks or a joke needs to be made, it doesn't need a sound effect or be made like a cinematic for it to be funny

The main issue with modern SMG4 at least in my opinion is that he relies *waaaaaaay* too much on Garry's Mod. The characters being taken almost exclusively from Mario 64 was basically his trademark. It's sad to see how that trademark is basically no longer there.

Here before people start saying how The New One is Bad and The Old Obe is better and how People should Never Improve on thier Craft.

The remastered video definitely has higher detail and quality. I just don’t prefer the over reliance on using Gmod models over the SM64 hacks. The scene with the goombas swarming is much better in the old version. The biggest upgraded joke from the remastered one is the “they took his dog” parts, since that’s an example where the hacks aren’t as comedic. So I do feel I like the remastered one more. I still think the video itself is overrated, but it’s a classic. I actually prefer the Toad rendition over the actual song too 😂.

One of my biggest gripes with the remake is smg4 being voice acted, now if there are other voice acted characters in the modern videos it makes sense but in the remake where he is the only one who is voice acted and everyone is speaking in voice clips then it stand out

I'm going to give an opinion, I really think that the new one is better but almost better than the original, this happens especially and it is noticeable when you manage to put a higher quality in the production, settings and even angles and scenes that could not be done because they did not have the possibility before, I mean he looks and feels better, but he doesn't do it well, one of the problems is that he feels overloaded, although I think he's right, I know that if he removes an old joke people will get angry, and if he doesn't put anything in, they will say: "the veil is not worth it", and that is why it continues like this, we all know copyright, although it is a minor problem, along with censorship, and a certain joke that was better in the new one, like others that were better in the original, in my opinion is 55/45, but realistically for others it's 50/50, I don't see the need to argue about which one is better, especially since they are both fun in their own way.

In the first half of videos the OG was 100% better but as it got to the second half the remake took the cake imo.

How come the original feels better then the remastered, The original is better paced, nothing is drawn out, and the expressions are just better, no relying on gmod squash and stretch faces, the sm64 models gave it charm and helped make jokes better, The new one, everyone feels so lifeless, constantly being wiggled around in gmod, there is also the lack of image editing in the new one, which makes it feel so dead, everything looks so bland, everyone moves so awkwardly in the new one, and because new smg4 hates using images to make characters have different expressions and relies on gmod to make their faces, it always gives them the same face, a squashed and stretched face with cross eyes, and the added animation with lip sinc is so... Unnecessary. The old videos, due to sm64 mario not having a mouth, had them move alot more, and had alot of eye expressions, which made them feel more alive, and honestly, the characters in the old one actually felt like they were in a room together,

“It’s not bad ur just blinded by nostalgia” nah his stuff is just eh now. Like it’s good animation and stuff props to their skills but it takes away the crappy homemade charm. All the new expressive animations make the use of goofy gmod ragdolls feel unneeded to me, like are you a shitpost Mario video or a children’s cartoon pick a side. Like the animation is good and if you like the remake better that’s fine but I just think smg4 feels more corporatized and sanitary now
