Hip Hop isn't a black thing. If anything, it's a NYC thing, because if you look back to when the music started, people from every race were involved, not just blacks. People from nearly every race have been involved with the music for as long as it's been around. Blacks have dominated the genre in sheer numbers, that's all. It's just music.

Love this video real revolutionary stuff. Black folk invented hip hop as time has gone on it has reached all cultures. Blues,Jazz and rock and roll influences of hip hop where origanally created by black folk picking up european instuments as well. We all enjoy it and create but we owe them alot of love and respect for such a heavy influence. If you dont agree thats cool ask Mos Deff,Talib kwali or Wu Tang they agree. I agree with hjatum. I love dead prez, but how is calling for black power any better than calling for white power? Racism is the belief that one race is superior, and trying to promote a black power movement is extremely racist. I believe in equality, and I wish DP did as well, preaching equality rather than black power.
