Battle break down - Firstly big up to smilez - he’s always on stage supporting others. Round 1 - Skamz ; Ren was the first to use beat switches and sfx and now everyone who does it wins. Drizz, Orion and now Skamz. It appeals to the live audience. Round 2 - Skamz, again smilez was strong but no beat switches or ko moments made the crowd less engaged. Skamz did well. Round 3 - Smilez, got his ko moment and got the crown on side. Respect to Skamz because he DEF lost his flow and had to freestyle to fill the gaps. Normally he would flop but this time he kept going - huge improvement. Winner Skamz 2-1 This new era of battle rap, inspired by Ren, will elevate the platform but for the classic rappers they need to evolve or get left behind

I agree with what ur saying in regards to if they don’t adapt they will get left behind but I also think it’s just takes the authenticity away with all the jokes , I understand it’s entertaining to the live audience and the viewers but it’ll get boring. I think Smilez should have won personally. Skamz had the better lines in the first, but ran out of steam in 2 and 3. Smilez kept the same energy, tied the second round and then bodied him in the third.

Man this was a hard one. Skamz definitely came back solid (glad to hear slightly less knife bars, at least) Their lyrical ability is pretty much bang on even, they have a very similar style. Smilez always brings the energy in his flow and Skamz has better delivery. It’s close af, honesty. If I had to choose, Skamz by a hair. Big up Judges, once again.

Personally I think Smilez took that W. Consistency is a big thing and although I thought Skamz was winning, his 3rd round was poor and he stumbled a lot. Smilez was cold throughout the entire battle. I feel like the crowd can’t understand his lyrics and punchlines. Theatrics and props are a big thing now because of ren dmc and that’s all the crowd cater to now. But congrats to Skamz

Problem is with smilez, he says a lot of nothing! He builds up to the punch and just doesn’t deliver! When you break down, the substance ain’t even close! This was a tough battle. Props to smil3z for never fumbling on beat. I see the judges perspective on this battle. The Props, sound effects and references seem to be a crucial factor to making the round more entertaining.

I think most feel Smiles deserved it more with the consistency, always punching at 85% wheras Skamz is 100% sometimes, and 0.5% at other times 😅 First round I gave to Skamz. Second I couldnt vote either way. Third was Smiles.

Tricky battle after watching it multiple times, im now thinking smilez should've won It due to bars and flows and especially 3rd round easy clap. Skamz fumbled in 3rd many times and second round wasn't that good towards the end with flows but he had few good punchlines

Litch ppl don’t realise how subconsciously they can affect the crowd and the judges. If a man is hopping around and screaming he’s back, it’s obvs gonna get the crowd up and the away the judges. He did the same thing with Sevz when he faced cheeze and that one was way worse

For me Skamz won 2-1 based on the first two rounds but again he chocked on the 3rd, overall Smilez kept it more consistent so it depends how you judge it. I prefer round by round to Skamz takes it. Skamz has a serious issue with remembering his bars, 5/6 battles live on KZfaq of him forgetting and stumbling rounds, he has to drop this rap battle ting if it’s a common issue for him.

Man, I should have gone to this one....all of the contests have been so good so far. Smilez flow is so good and his third round was great, but yeah, Skamz was going bar for bar in the first two rounds. The finals are shaping up to be a who's who of Pengame heavyweights.
