@@um212thinking that your race is superior is the exact definition of racism. Disliking people of other ethnicities/cultures/religions or resisting them to enter your community is called xenophobia. The term "racism" is overused and is losing in negative connotation because of that, because if racism in the 19th century was the belief that Black people should be enslaved because of their inherent inferiority, today racism can mean touching black people's hair out of curiosity.

"Using your black friends to defend yourself is racist within itself." - WTF?????? So you are in effect saying that If I'm accused of racism, and I use the relationships in my life that I care about most to defend myself - the people who I go through trouble to help without expecting repayment and am willing to die for - that somehow my statement alone would prove without question that I'm a racist? Come on guys, what kind of logic is that??? Do not our relationships prove the condition of our hearts more than anything else? I love you guys over at SmileSquad - you guys make funny videos about being a good person and the importance of being a good friend. From that I just would have assumed you guys were above the pettiness of such a ludicrous absolute. I agree that someone having "black friends" as Afomia puts it does not in any way make someone not a racist, but stating that "using your black friends to defend yourself is racist within itself" just doesn't make any sense. - Just saying

Yes, they are saying that if you are being racist and you use the fact that you have friends of color to dismiss the racist actions you’re doing, that is problematic. People often say things like, “I can’t be racist, my best friend is black,” and dismissing the harmful action they’re doing instead of recognizing that we can be unintentionally doing racist things while still caring about people of color.
@juliangerardino1682

@@singeileen I do see your point Eileen. And yes, having friends, a spouse, or family members, of racial diversity etc. doesn't automatically clear anyone as to not being racist. However, it would still be ridiculous for me as a white guys to say to somebody that "using your relationships to defend yourself shows your racism, you "insert name here" are the biggest racist I have ever met." What I've learned, Don't protect your valuable possessions from someone who is statistically more likely to commit a crime Force yourself to like a skin tone you don't find attractive Never wear a costume because it originated from a culture When someone raises their voice in a rude manner you can't tell them not to You are not allowed to like a certain skin color and you are also not allowed to dislike it Stop having black friends Stop liking other peoples hair Rap music is offensive to black people Thanks I learned a lot!
