Shot this at the range twice and loved it overall, with no qualms about the trigger. It's very easy to manipulate the slide, also. The one negative thing I did notice was that the last time I took it for a spin, the 12-round magazine that came with the gun for range use (it was a rental) wouldn't load past the 9th round or so, and that was with the UpLula mag loader. I'll be sure to bring it up with the staff next time I visit. Other than that, this baby has been great and IMO is definitely worth considering for a relatively easy to use (and pretty reliable, in my experience) true micro-compact (i.e. smaller than the micro-XL pistols) 9mm.

I don't rule out the poly guns completely but I sure do prefer metal guns! The only issue I noticed was the one "delayed" chambering and that could have been from the really tight magazine. I'll probably do some more shooting with this one because I think it'd make a great CCW. Thanks for watching!

I have been thinking about this pistol, but what is stopping me is that weird trigger that you have to totally remove your finger from the trigger to reset it. Two triggers, two resets. My sig p938 does not have this issue. Neither any of my six older s&w pistols and the 3913 is half inch taller and longer, but a much better fitting pistol. I am 8n NYS with a 10 rnd mag limit, so 10 rounds vs 8 is not an issue. I think I will stay away from the csx. By the way, my sig p225 is marginally longer than the 3913 and my cz Rami same size as the csx, but a little thicker. The csx does not add anything to my carry rotation pistols. Accuracy free hand is about 8 inches at 20 to 25 yards, with any of my carry pistols and at my age, I am ok with that.
@SmallCaliberArmsReview
@SmallCaliberArmsReview 2 жыл бұрын
If you're really concentrating on the reset, you'll notice it. If you're just taking it out to plink, the feel of the reset will probably not be noticed. If you have to use it in a self defense situation, you probably won't notice a lot of other things going on around you! Thanks for watching!
@JeffinTD
@JeffinTD 2 жыл бұрын
Hopefully the mag limit will go bye bye soon, but even so if I had a p938 I would not be compelled to run out and buy one of these. One I handled had a bad false click in the reset, and later another one had no click but kind of a hump in the feel of the reset stroke until it clicks into fully reset. I shoot to reset, but it turns out actually firing it was fine for me. The way the rear of the trigger bow travels across the linkage for the firing pin block seems to cause the less than smooth reset stroke.

I didn't mention anything about the trigger because there was nothing exceptionally bad or good about it. I did notice an extra "click" during reset but only when I was concentrating on it. I didn't notice it at all while shooting it. It is not a competition gun and the trigger seemed to be absolutely fine for a CCW. Thanks for watching!

I’ve handled one with a pretty bad trigger and false click in the reset, and another with a better break and more of a hump in the reset stroke but no false click. Reviews are mixed, but I like mine. I could do without the dingus, but in this day and age I could see them wanting a degree of drop safe even with the safety disengaged. Not for everyone for sure, but if you want a micro 9 and are used to 1911 type controls…

I’d handled an earlier one with a pretty crummy click in the middle of the reset stroke that would drive me nuts. Later I ran into one that had a bit of a hump in the reset stroke but no click, and a slight creep but controllable break at about 5.5#. I thought it shot pretty well.

For me it felt good in the hand, and I found shooting one to be a more pleasant experience than I’d expected from dryfiring or reviews. I’ve shot many of the micro edc type guns, and this one and the much more expensive and somewhat larger Wilson are the ones I find fun to shoot. Not for everyone, but if you are used to 1911’s and you want a micro 9…

To me, it isn’t for everyone but if you are used to 1911 manual of arms and want a micro 9, it isn’t a bad choice. The design of the fire control system is completely different than a 1911, and although some don’t exhibit the false click in the reset, the way the trigger bow interacts with the link for the firing pin block I suspect there will always be a bit of a hump in the reset stroke. Actually firing it, it doesn’t bother me and I actually enjoy shooting it more than I expected. Mine has a controllable break that started at around 5.5 and seems to have broken in to right around 5, which to me is fine for a micro EDC.

I noticed you didn't talk about it which give me the impression you were okay with it, plus you made accurate shots on the silhouette. Really well done first look and review. I was "on the fence" about the CSX, but decided to order the Shield plus instead. After seeing it come in a "bugout bundle" with night sights, 3 extra 13 rd mags, OR, bag, and $50 rebate, I couldn't pass it up. *I am also partial to the look, feel and shootability of all metal construction and my 92x is nice! Nice video. Regarding magazines mine load easily. There have been reports of magazine spring not properly hooked onto the follower, or in backwards. Personally I don’t mind the field strip procedure. Some examples do have a pretty bad false click in the reset, but the one I got has a bit of a hump (no click) in the reset. For the ones with the click, slightly cleaning up the trigger bow and the linkage for the firing pin block where they interact seems to be the cure.

Informative of the _Smith & Wesson CSX_ in this video. My observations: If you have XXL/XL hands the CSX maybe be a poor choice. For women & small to medium men, it probably works as far as *_fitting the hand._* The *"issues"* with the CSX are well known by now: - *_heavier_* to pull trigger on A SINGLE ACTION GUN ( the striker-fired S&W Shield has a better trigger I'm told - What the...?!) - the CSX has a "false reset" before the real reset - some say the gun's handle is comfortable, *others* say the CSX is uncomfortable to hold. TEST before buying. - odd/strange disassembly - tight bullet fit in magazines when full of rounds - tight magazine well fit when loading firearm with a magazine full of rounds - *_minor pet peeve_* - has an external manual safety that most modern firearms have gotten away from. Anyway, this _$610 USD_ *S&W CSX* could be a success or become a flop - 50/50. There are many cheaper in cost, higher quality small guns out there in comparison (SIG P365/P365XL, Glock 43/43X, S&W Shield, etc.), IMO. To me this gun is *_not the one._* A better S&W CSX *_Ver. 2 or Gen. 2_* is very much needed.

I also have pretty large hands but not overly meaty and I haven’t had any problems with slide bite. Of the micro9’s the one fits my hand well. Magazine wise, mine load easily and don’t bulge. Several people have reported finding the magazine spring not hooked into the follower, or the magazine spring in backwards. None should have left the factory like that, but it’s not hard to fix. I’ve handled an example with a noted false click in the reset. Mine has no click but more of a hump. I shoot to reset and it hasn’t caused me problems. For ones with a click, using a fine and medium stone to clean up the back of the trigger bow and the linkage for the firing pin block where they interact seems to be the ticket. Not the easiest frame to strip down but not horrible. The pistol sure isn’t for everyone, but if you are a 1911 shooter who wants a micro 9 IMHO it isn’t bad. A performance center version with tuned trigger, trijicon, rail, optic ready… I think might be nice.
