The safety on the glock g4 is one of the cleverest, most non-afterthought safeties of any air gun I own. The way they disguised it as being the serial # plate was brilliant.

Wonderful presentation! I am a Brit who now lives in Mississippi USA and absolutely loves shooting, it's my passion. I wish I'd known about air pistols when I was in the UK, but back then it was something that was completely foreign to me. My first experience with guns was when my husband and I moved here to MS and he bought a S&W M&P .40 and I got a S&W .380 Bodyguard. I absolutely hated it, it terrified me and I've never shot it since ha ha! That was 4 years ago now, but since then I've persevered and learned so much from him (he's retired Air Force) and local shooting groups and now own many Glocks from the 42 .380 (which I carry daily), G43x 9mm, G23 .40 and G32 .357. I also have a S&W Victory .22 which I love and found your video as I'm about to purchase a S&W M&P PC 9mm. I really had no idea that these were made in Air Pistol versions and I'm truly in awe of your thorough breakdown and walkthrough. I'm so pleased there are ways for people to access this great hobby in the UK!

If true that is excellent power for a metal slide blowback.

"No real hstory lesson",... but there could be,.... the MP9 exists because S&W were losing sales to Glock. S&W first brought their Sigma series to market, and then got sued by Glock as they were pretty much Glock copies. The design has been changed just enough to avoid further lawsuits, and hence, the MP9.

Nice gun. I am not really a modern auto pistol guy preferring the older classics. Colt SAA, Schofield, Webley and Colt 1911. Out of those 2 I would go for the glock with the field strip swaying me.

Greetings from Argentina, Andy. A detail I always mark about UMAREX handguns is that, despite excellent replica craftmanship, they seem to pay little attention to accuracy. I mean, most UMAREX pistols use BBs , so why not use the BAX (hop up) shooting system, like SWISS ARMS or KWC.

I do find the magazine differences ironic considering m&p’s come with metal magazines and and glocks come with polymer ones. Funny that they’re reversed in the BB gun versions. Thanks for the video. Been looking for a BB gun replica of my every day carry gun just for practicing. Seems pretty decent.

I have the .43 caliber paint ball version (or 85 grain ball bearings) very effective for close quarters use! 5 ft lbs also! Looks exactly the same but no safety like this BB version.

Now this is an S&W airpistol I might finally buy! (Still no S&W replicas in my collection to date)' I love my H&K VP9 and ISSC M22 - that both sport this magazine type that provides good blowback and fps rate. This M&P9 though seems more like a full-sized pistol in comparison to the more compact VP9 and M22. And I have wanted for a long time to get a full-size pistol with this magazine type. The trigger pull surely is always a full length one for every shot - but that has never been a con for me. I just love how these perform. And this M&P9 does even look good! Another big plus on this one (apparently) is the firm placement of the slide in front position which removes the slide wiggle (as also seen on the VP9). You can hear in the video that the slide is apparently quite thin on this one also - but it just helps even further to provide that good snappy blowback as on other replicas with a magazine like this.. Yea.. I need one of these! Another huge thank you to Andy and the crew! PS. You could have compared this M&P9 to the Glock 17 gen3 BB shooter instead of the gen4 one. The G17 gen3 oughta be more alike this S&W.. But the gen4 do provide more realism for the ones that absolutely requires it. My personal G17 gen4 shot incredibly low. About 7-8cm drop underneath bullseye from just a distance of 6 metres.

Just get both live he said, you won’t be disappointed.

Nice looking pistol. It does seem to me though, like a Glock 17 Gen 5 in slightly different clothing. Apart from the more user friendly secondary safety and the less rattly slide, it's like the same pistol. In fact, had you put it side by side with the Gen 5 instead of the Gen 4 it would have been very obvious that Umarex have redressed the same gun. Even the mag is identical to the Gen 5 and wouldn't surprise me if they were interchangeable.

Thanks for the review, Andy. I just think they missed a trick, when the M&P40 has the full blowback and is strippable. The 'half-blowback' is so unsatisfactory and the lack of realism lets it down.

Quick question?? With the cartridge release on the left side of the grip, would this be problematic for a lefty?? I'm left handed so it's kind of crucial information in my case. Wouldn't be too nice if the release is activated while in use... *Please let me know to confirm, thanks kindly!

The secondary safety on the smith and wesson are not wrong. It's just s&w produce more without the thumb safety but it's purely an optional extra on the real 9mm. This is because it's designed to be a service weapon

why are these Replica Guns so weak in the FPS Department. would it be somewhat better in the 600 to 800 FPS range. I understand this is a UK channle but there pretty much the same in the US. yes new to airguns thats why asking. is the Co2 the Issues? thanks and great Reviews

Great review once again Andy. These non-adjustable sights are a pet peeve of mine. All airguns should come with adjustable sights. Firearms do. We buy guns that don't shoot straight. Paperweights. I've shot pistols that shot so far off target that even with a laser they could not be zeroed. The fact that you can't shoot these without adding another sight is wrong. How much extra would it cost? I'm at a point where I won't buy a gun, pistol or rifle that doesn't have an adjustable sight or at least a rail. Thank's again Andy :-)

Love your honest reviews Sir. In April of this year I have really taken to airguns and love a little plinking in my garden. I absolutely love my Glock 17 gen4 but very interested in a second gun, this one here being that very gun. So def gonna look up for any deals on this.

I bought the Umarex S+W M&P 40, I've also bought the Glock, I like the feel of the 40 better than the Glock, there's nothing between them in quality, the Glock does seem to have jumped up in price lately though.

I've seen models where the safety interferes with using a standard holster so there's another test for you to check. It's not much use if real accessories don't fit.

Hi Andy and subscribers. Mine, right out of the box has a bit of space between the slide and the body and the inner spring can be seen when looking directly from the side. Is that within normal limits for this particular model? Thanks.

....My M&P 45 shot a little low at 10m....all I did was file a bit off the top of the front sight to bring it up slightly ( I'm not a fan of 'sighting aids' ).....didn't cost a cent,....oh, forgot, we don't have pennies in Canada....hahaha......

Really nice gun, the quality when you hold it, when shooting and id say its very accurate BUT theres a problem with the materials cause mine got a problem with the slide lock within 2 months of use it didnt lock anymore, what i mean is that the slide lock got swept for a reason same as the slide is swept and then the magazine used to got stuck so i had to return it... i was in love with the gun tbh if it wasnt because of that

I bought this gun and if you slowly squeeze the trigger the bbs dribble out before they fire. To prevent this you have pull the trigger fast which is poor shooting technique.

jst use acetone or nail polish remover (as long as its metal) and any painted writing comes straight off, like the white writing on the old FDE version

Returned for a second watch of this video.. Yet again considering to finally buy a S&W replica into my collection. This would be the S&W for me. Only got more compact size pistols in my collection sporting this mag type, so I'd definitely want a more full frame sized pistol also. Sure. The triggerpull is long because of the magazine type it uses - but these are sweet to shoot.

can you please tell me what size bb goes into gun, I called from where I bought the gun and they told me 10.5mm and I can't find that size.

Just bought it. It looks and feels amazing but shoots pretty far right. About 4 -5 inches at 35 yards.

Hi How is the magazine holding up, any leaking? My son just got this, he previously had the Glock 17 Elite Force Airsoft the magazine leaked CO2 very bad we sent it back to Umarex they sent us a new one although it took forever and after about shooting two CO2 through it it leaked too. Also had the Colt Python it started leaking right after the warranty was out. Keep telling my son to quit buying this Umarex junk but he won't listen. I have 20 year old Crosman and Daisy CO2 Pistols that work much better.
