UPDATE: I received the screws from Smith & Wesson, not just one but a few. I always appreciate a Customer Service department that 1) Responds to customers, and 2) Actually does, in a timely manner, what they say they are going to do.

Even S&W's pictures of the Response on their website has the gap which does lead me to believe this was an intentional cost-saving move as you alluded to. Granted this may not be intended for military/law enforcement; however, I don't believe we should sacrifice attention to detail especially when little of these cost-saving moves are passed on to the consumer. Check out the AR-9 video. Another PCC which cost roughly the same yet far more rugged. Gives me an idea to do a side-by-side comparison video. Thanks for your input and thank you for watching.

@@CrookedHorseRiflePistol, agree! That's why I keep it open. I carefully open it only for cleaning, it is very convenient.

I guess it depends on a person's circumstances and preference. Might be an effective alternative if you live in a state hostile to the AR-15.

For home defense purposes, ease of use with the AR style platform but not as much risk of collateral damage from using 5.56 indoors

@Supercharged1976, you're missing the whole point of this gun. You don't carry this gun "around". This is the home self-defense champion, you keep this near or under your bed. You and every other Human will be 26.8% - 82.4% more accurate (made those up) with a rifle than a pistol; they're just easier to shoot. The 9mm, like Bigskitch was eluding to, won't travel through 7 walls like an AR15. Also, it's light enough that women and children can be taught how to shoot it. Did I mention that 9mm is one of the least expensive rounds available, so training for everyone at the range is possible?

I think you're missing the point of what I'm saying though. I'm not saying it's a "bad" gun I'm saying if you're going to carry the same size gun for home defense why would you opt for a smaller far less effective round in the 9mm vs a .223/5.56? As I stated you put this in a PCC style weapon okay that makes sense.@@Michael_Braddy

@@Supercharged1976 As someone new to the sport. It made perfect sense for me to add to my glock. I can train with both using the same mags and ammo. Then who knows, maybe an upgrade's in my future. Nothing wrong with haveing more guns right?
