Lyrics:
SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE A HELPLESS CHILD ALONE IN THE NIGHT SOMETIMES I FEEL SO FAR FROM THE LIGHT
I'M ALONE ON AN ENDLESS ROAD LOOKING FOR A SIGN THE CROSSROAD STRETCHES OUT AHEAD BUT I DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY IS MINE
SO I’M GONNA RUN FROM THE WORLD ‘CAUSE I DON’T OWE YOU SO DON’T BE AFRAID I WON’T GET TOO CLOSE TO YOU I’M JUST A LONER
OPEN YOUR ARMS I’VE BEEN SCARRED I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I’LL FOLLOW TO THE END
THE FUTURE IS A MYSTERY ONLY YOU CAN TRY BUT ALL I SEE IS RAIN BLACKING OUT THE SKY
SO I’M GONNA FOLLOW MY ROAD I’VE GOT NOTHING TO LOSE YEA MY PATH IS WRITTEN IN STONE THE STARS WILL ALIGHT FOR ME I KNOW THAT I’M GETTING CLOSER
OPEN YOUR ARMS I’VE BEEN SCARRED I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I’LL FOLLOW TO THE END
WHY I WONDER WHY TIME WAS ON MY SIDE
MY WELL IS RUNNING DRY
OPEN YOUR ARMS IVE BEEN SCARRED I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND
TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I’LL FOLLOW TO THE END
YEA I’M JUST A LONER
I’M TIRED OF HIDING MY SCARS I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND
YEA YEA
TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I WILL FOLLOW TO THE END
YEA YEA YEA YEA

Dude... Give ASAP a listen. It's the project Adrain left Maiden to do. It's a little heavy on the late eighties production, but he kills it on vocals. There's a Maiden B-side called Reach Out that's worth checking out. It even has Bruce Dickinson on background vocals.

lol yes he has, he started off in Urchin, in fact Maiden were really interested in his rounded skills, also ASAP was really good just not quite heavy enough for the Maiden fanbase it was marketed at, and he's done a bit of of iconic stuff with Maiden like 'Wasted Years' live chorus is a big fan fave, and he's done lead on a couple of B-sides and there's other really good bits and bobs he's fronted.

Richie Kotzen is the greatest rock musician we have right now. His collection of songs is beyond compare. His competition has to be the artists from the past - the Eric Claptons, Aerosmith, and Rolling Stones. Nobody can win against those guys of course since their positions are cemented forever but there's nobody making timeless unforgettable music anymore besides Richie so I'm stuck comparing him to the greatest of all time but you know what = he holds his own and that's an incredible feat and nobody else will do it besides Richie. A true unknown superstar.

Sometimes I feel like a helpless child, alone in the night Sometimes I feel so far from the light I'm alone on an endless road looking for a sign The crossroad stretches out ahead but I don't know which way is mine So I'm gonna run from the world 'cause I don't owe you So don't be afraid, I won't get too close to you I'm just a loner Open your arms, I've been scarred, I hope you help me mend Take me to heart from the start, I'll follow to the end, yeah The future is a mystery only you can try But all I see is rain blacking out the sky So I'm gonna follow my road, I've got nothing to lose Yeah, my path is written in stone, the stars will alight for me I know that I'm getting closer Open your arms, I've been scarred, I hope you help me mend Take me to heart from the start, I'll follow to the end Why, I wonder why Time was on my side My well is running dry Open your arms, I've been scarred, I hope you help me mend Take me to heart from the start, I'll follow to the end Yeah, I'm just a loner I'm tired of hiding my scars, I hope you help me mend, yeah Take me to heart from the start, I will follow to the end Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
