The CCC stuff is nice! The annex I need to measure, but it was adequate. I guess you could sort of calculate based on the height of the towers and your truck. I want to say it measured at 74ish inches? I know I replied somewhere in here with the height lol.

@@chazpages I have been looking at what you did for about 4 months. I had not done it because that is a lot of money for a hope it will work. I believe I will start ordering the pieces today, Thank you very much, I am glad i found your channel. The bonus is you can use the Adarac normal struts for everyday use and swap out for the weekend in a hour or two.

My crossbars are 6 feet long-I had to buy 2 darn 10 foot pieces lol. If you aren't putting anything too heavy (100lbs or so) you can get away with 14ga superstrut, but I'd probably go for the 12ga right off the bat to make future stuff easier/worry free.

I thought that might be the case. I have the CCC towers coming, so I'll do some more measuring, but I'll take your suggestion and go with the 12 gauge. Thanks for your help!

Which company said that? The 2 rails is pretty standard, from what I’ve seen. My 2 rails have held up just fine the last few trips. I don’t know what the manual/smittybilt recommends but just don’t put the support bars on the very edges of the tent. I think I left a 10 inches or a foot on either side? Leaving about 4 feet between them. However, if you have room for 3 rails it wouldn’t hurt. FWIW, I just redid my rack and increased the length between the bars, but I haven’t tested it yet (I also added 2 more support bars running lengthwise because I mounted the 2 support bars almost at the end). I’ll be using it in the next few weeks and will review it then. There was no issues before, but I was/am attempting to gain more clearance for something under the tent that the support bars were in the way of last time.

There is a sentence in the tent installation PDF that mentions the XL is recommended to have 3 crossbars and when I called Smittybilt they confirmed that there should be three crossbars. I think I am going to add more ribs lengthwise as well, maybe even changing the current extruded aluminum ribs with Unistrut to be sure. Thanks again!

Keep the current aluminum there, unless you switch to the 12ga (larger) unistrut (which is taller-so you’ll have to remove the smittybilt aluminum altogether). Only reason not to use unistrut is it isn’t lightweight. I used 80/20 aluminum bars with the factory bars (25 series-the factory smittybilt bars are 1”). I’ll have the rtt update video in a few weeks so you can see.

Did you ever find the dimensions? I have no idea how there isn’t anything on the amount of space between the mounting brackets, which oddly enough seems important.
