Here is my review of SML August 2023. On a side note, I will not talk about the animated version of SuperPowers, as that was just an animation of a video that came out years ago. I will also not rate Jeffy Plays Genshin Impact, as that was intentionally a sponsor video, so I can't really rate it (although if it WAS its own video, it would be a 0/10). Junior's Cheeto Dinosaur- This was pretty mediocre. Goodman was tolerable enough and the concept with the nuke was kinda decent, although it would've been better if the video focused on that. The rest was pretty bad, with the actual concept not being interesting, and the ending was terrible. Seriously, everyone dies and that's it. At least Rose seemingly dies in this video as well. THANK FUCK! 3.5/10 Jeffy Plays Soccer- This was enjoyable. Seriously, the sports related videos were definitely some of the best SML videos of 2023. The soccer game itself was great, and I loved how everyone brushed off the fact that Jeffy's dad was coaching the other team. Something about that made me laugh. The ending was kinda trash, but that's my only complaint. 8/10 Junior's Deadly Idea- I know you hate this video, but I personally loved it. This just felt like a classic SML video. The concept was great, most of the characters were funny, and I was so glad to see Bowser and Charleyyy again. Also, it's Bowser. Not Braxton for me! The only complaint I have was that this video was a bit too long, otherwise it was great. 9.5/10 The Taser Problem- This video could've been good. Instead, it was just Rose torture done incorrectly. Seriously, she has done NOTHING wrong in this video. This was probably the first video she wanted to help, but she got shat on the entire time. The filler with Brooklyn Guy was noticeable and the ending was stupid. The court segment was kinda good and the jacket that Rose wears...I can't. 3.5/10 Junior's Big Playtime- I was SO glad when I heard about this video. I am a HUGE fan of the Playtime series, and I'm so happy they brought it back. Everything was great. The characters were still funny, every scene was hilarious, and this video brought back Richard and Toad. 10/10 Brooklyn Guy the Waiter- This was kinda underrated. Most of this video did focus on the Fuckerdoos, and this video could've done a lot more with the concept. However, everything else was decent. Gordon Ramsay was definitely the best character, Brooklyn Guy was decent, and Hank had some alright moments. 6/10 The Broken Crown- Holy fuck, this video was SO boring! This video proves that Brooklyn Guy transformed from a relatable side character, to a wall-breaking, main character. His scenes were terrible to watch. Seriously, the glue joke can fuck off! Jackie Chu and the Loan Dolphin were the only decent characters here, but everything and everyone else sucked. 2.5/10 Goodman's Bad Request- I did like this video more after a rewatch. I liked the dark humour here, especially when it came to the ball jokes. The animation was actually kinda decent, which is genuinely a surprise. Goodman was funny and most of the video was tolerable. Some scenes were a bit boring and the concept was kinda disturbing, but the video was tolerable. 6/10 Jeffy's 19th Birthday- I have been waiting the entire year for this video, and it was...slightly underwhelming. I did like the camera angles and the explosion scene was fucking awesome. However, this just felt like a copy and paste of Jeffy's 18th Birthday. This video barely does anything different. I DO hope Jeffy's 20th Birthday has a different plot. Maybe Jacques and Mr. Winkle can be the main villains for the 20th birthday. 8/10 Jeffy's Balloon Company- This was weird as fuck. The concept where Jeffy farts out balloons was kinda disturbing, though not on the bad levels of Jeffy's Cat Throw Up and Brooklyn Guy's Ear Problem. Marvin was kinda tolerable here and the scene with Russell from UP was kinda funny. The rest was just bland. 4.5/10 Junior's Free Fries- This was VERY enjoyable. This is definitely Ronald McDonald's best appearance, which is saying something considering this is his first appearance and he is currently a recurring character. The fight scene between Ronald and Burger King was funny, and Grimace was decent. Junior was kinda stupid here, but everything else was good. 8.5/10 Junior's Crazy Girlfriend- This was decent most of the time. I loved the scene where Junior and Penelope loved Bridgerton. As a British person, I found the fake accents slightly funny. Penelope was kinda annoying here, and despite this video being tolerable, this wasn't a great introduction to a bad relationship between Junior and Penelope. 7/10 Best Video: Junior's Big Playtime Worst Video: The Broken Crown Overall Percentage: 64.16% Overall, I actually enjoyed this month. I know you hated this month, especially the video Junior's Deadly Idea, but I didn't think August was bad. I will be fine if you disagree with my opinions, considering the huge differences between our opinions.
