Homework is supposed to go over what we learned but it’s usually harder than the stuff we do in class which makes no sense at all

I skipped school once. It was senior year of high school. I went to a field trip to a community college tour with a few other students. By the time we got back, last period already started. I just didn't wanna go to class. So I called my mom to pick me up LOL

Actually teachers do have to put in 2 hours after the students leave. Usually it's just grading stuff but some of them help students or do after school activities as well.

But to be fair, some classes definitely need homework. My best friend is my old calculus teacher, and the only reason I passed that class was because he gave us assignments that took 15 minutes a day to do at home, just once a day, so we can retain the information for the next day. It helped way more when I did it vs. when I didn't. HOWEVER, it was ONLY 15 minutes and none of the questions were hard, it was literally just review. Giving a bunch of "studying" homework is bullshit.

As a teacher I can say some days we do work 30 minutes- 2 hours outside of school but I also can say homework just puts additional stress on the student. (I teach 5th grade and we don’t assign homework)

Homework is a bad idea. Growing up I was doing a bunch of homework in one day cause everything was due the next day. Being up late past your bedtime doing schoolwork is a bad idea. It makes you tired then the next day you have to go back to school and be falling asleep in class. That's why homework is not worth it. I never liked homework. Lance has a point. Nice reaction by the way! I can't believe Scooter snitched on Jeffy and Junior 🤣🤣🤣. He always tells the truth. I love how he is the opposite of Jeffy. So I hated homework but I had to deal with it. -Elementary wasn't all that bad, but I barely remember those years -Middle school I hated with all my heart because they gave a ton of it, on top of making us read daily, (some books i really liked,, but there was some that ended up boring me and made me lose motivation on continuing the story) and of course the winter break packets they gave every year that was due on the first day back that was always like 50 pages -High school was a mix ~Freshman year we had kind of like a study hall sorta, it was just like a half hour sitting in my class doing whatever, in which I did all of my homework there, which really wasn't that much, the history work was always fun because I loved World History, Math I was given a page where there would be 4 questions for each day, and turn in on Friday, which I always finished on Monday Science was always an easy and fun subject ~Sophomore-Junior year they took out the study hall period and extended lunch to a full period instead of half and half, so I ended up doing all homework at home, which to be honest I don't remember much of, other than English sometimes because the class work became homework overtime ~Senoir year just didn't exist for me, it was all online and I did a self paced program and that just felt like 8 months of homework And I just graduated in June so I've not yet attended college

I believe in homework in the sense that it should be optional. If you want to review that way you should have it there, but it should not be required. If you choose not to do it, the only way it affects your grade is that quizzes and tests and in class assignments will weigh more, so you better not bad.
