Good video. This is the most common electric smoker and comes under a lot of names with two to four grates. They're probably made by the same factory in China. I just picked one up at a garage sale (4 shelves) for $20. Thanks for the video.

Hopefully someone can help answer this question for me. I just bought a 30" Masterbuilt smoker and it is still sitting in my living room. I took every removable part out and thoroughly hand washed with dish washing detergent and dried. (I can't believe how sticky the shelves were upon opening!!) Masterbuilt says that one of the main purposes of pre-seasoning their smokers is to get rid of nasty chemicals from the manufacturing process. Wouldn't it make more sense to "pre-season" the smoker TWICE?? The first time with no spray or wood chips just to get rid of the chemicals. Let it cool down and then spray it, heat it up, and add the wood? Seems like spraying it first would only trap the harmful crap that we are trying to get rid of. Any opinions?

not sure, but I have never prewash anything, maybe my bad. I like to lightly sprary the inside surfaces with veggie or canola oil. First I cover the burner with a piece of foil, spray it down, remove foil, heat it, cool down, respray the roof and window if it has one, then smoke it heavy for hours.. I like to run my fist smoke with a fatty pork roast to complete the process..I don't know if that helps?
