Hello, I've been watching your great videos for some time now and I'm always enthusiastic about the wonderfully positive way you present it all. I live in the Netherlands and I am sometimes A little jealous of all those fantastic and varied pipe tobaccos that you can buy. In the Netherlands it is becoming increasingly difficult and since July a new law has prevented people from purchasing tobacco or tobacco products online. Fortunately, I have stocked up on a lot of pipe tobacco in recent years, so I can still make progress. In any case, your videos make me very happy. My compliments and greetings from the Netherlands
@hobbitonpiper10 ай бұрын
Thank you for this comment! Yes unfortunately it seems that all around the world each year it’s getting more difficult to obtain tobaccos. “Stock up while you can” is probably good advice

It's the middle of the night. I can't sleep, so I started watching some of the videos you've posted. Somehow, I missed a couple of videos over the last couple of months. Thanks for the great content! I was listening to you talk- and I thought, "McFats, you get yer hiney up outta bed and retry that dang Sutliff Balkan Sobrani Match. Oh, and another thing, McFats. Smoke it in yer Erik the Red Bulldog." This bulldog never gets hot. IDK what is so special about it, but it just really shines in the heat dissipation department. It's good. I didn't like it the first bowl, but I've been on a big virginia kick for the last few months. Erinmore, Union Square, and PS coins for the most part. I want to add that I've mostly been smoking P-Lips Sherlock the Deerstalker and the Strand are amazing pipes. I'm considering just smoking p-lips from now on. Thoughts on p-lips? Awesome box opening! Congrats!

What wonderful gifts, and so many out of production tins! I'm really hoping Missouri Meerschaum and Sutliff do another run of Creeper of the Corn at some point, since I'd love to try it! For tonight though I'm smoking some Orlik Golden Sliced in a smooth blue Savinelli Arcobelano 606 KS, and surprisingly loving it! I had tried Orlik Golden Sliced once about 5 months ago and thought it just tasted like dandelions, so I put it away in a Ball jar on the bottom shelf, but coming back and revisiting it 5 months later the dandelion flavor is still there; but it's greatly softened and accompanied by lots of earthy, malty Virginia flavors and a natural sweetness that really does taste like honey to my palate. I like it a lot, and I think it might become a part of my regular rotation if I still like it as much after smoking it a few more times =)

The reddish clay pipe with the ribs is a pipe very much like the one I used to smoke all the time. There used to be a lot of clay pipe factories that would make pipes to trade with the local Native Americans. You can use a natural plant called Southern Arrow Wood for the stems. It’s the same wood my ancestors would use for arrows. It’s jointed much like river cane. You can cut between the joints and it hollow which makes great pipe stems and they fit perfectly into the pipe bowls. Have you ever seen the picture of the Cherokee man they called Sequoyah that created the Cherokee alphabet? In that picture you will see him smoking a pipe exactly like the bowl you received. Hope you enjoy the pipe as much as I enjoyed mine. I lost my pipes and the ones that belonged to my grandpa in a flood.
@hobbitonpiper9 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing all of this valuable information! I’m so sorry to hear about your loss, that’s really unfortunate :(
@cwyredman19749 ай бұрын
@@hobbitonpiper You’re welcome. I clicked on your video because I seen that red clay pipe haha. In Indiana and Ohio you can sometimes find pieces of these pipe bowls in fields. It was very rare to find a whole one. I look forward to seeing more of your videos and the info you share. Did you ever wonder how Native Americans kept their tobacco from turning to dust? We used apple slices in our leather pouches to keep it moist. The funny thing is that it never molds. I used this method for years.

Hello Hobbiton, I am new to the pipe smoking world and love watching your videos! I bought my first corn cob a couple months ago and then quickly purchased the the cobbit which was my fav until I ran it to hot and it started to crack. I recently picked up a Rossi 8644 with some Cult blood red moon and some Ps24 nouget thanks to your suggestions. I am wanting to try some virginias in particular, Capstan blue but the funds don't allow currently :(. The aromatics are great but maybe a little to heavy maybe and I think a lighter smoke would do me better. Thank you for being such a kind fun loving human being and I look forward to your next videos. P.S. Go Jets!!

What do you think about the NIL money and college players getting paid big bucks? Will it help or hurt the college game?
@hobbitonpiper10 ай бұрын
I haven’t studied it to give you an educated response, but I’m surprised this didn’t come sooner. Colleges have been profiting huge off of college athletics forever. I certainly don’t think it will hurt the game, or the revenue produced from ticket sales and merch. I think it will be fine. College football needs a larger playoff tournament and they are working on that too
