I had the distinct honor of driving Smokey from San Francisco to Napa last year. To think of how much history he’s contributed to the music industry is completely unfathomable , and to have him in the back of MY CAR??!!!! Absolutely CRAZY!!!! In Smokey's Auto-biography, he talks about writing this song. He wrote it during his affair with an 18yr. old soul train dancer. YES. it's about his affair. His Auto-Biography is so deep. It's really a good book.

Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, thank you for giving me the vitamins that I needed to become the mature woman that I am today. Your music took me there and brought me back. Many nights in Chicago, we grew up listening to The Temptations vs. The Miracles on wvon with HErb Kent the Kool Gent. This was music that went down in the best history books. Still have this album. Love Quiet Storm. I wanted to be a writer that wrote poetry like Smokey wrote lyrics. His use of the English language is just astonishing and amazing, not to mention his beautiful voice. I saw him live back in the 1970s at the Paramount Theater in Portland, Oregon. Loved him then, love him now!

this is a wake up song it took me 31 years to to be free from all of it. i really have to thank him for this song. no love no ecstasy. i really did good. who ever would believe a person could go that long. with that said god have me.
