One of the hardest throwing pitchers from the early 20th century. Joe Wood played for the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians. He was a three time World Series Champion, (1912,1915,1920). Due to arm trouble he transferred to playing the outfield and was a member of the first Cleveland Indians team to win a World Series Title which happened in the 1920 season. His career year came in 1912 as a pitcher for the Red Sox where he posted a 34-5 record in 43 appearances with a ERA of 1.91 while striking out 258 batters in 344 innings. He played from 1908 to 1922. If not for the arm trouble that dogged him after that 1912 season Joe Wood would have continued to dominate on the mound and secured a place in The Baseball Hall Of Fame.
