What is that PVC cap modification on the pivot point of the loader? I have a L3301 and am always interested in making mods to help my efficiency.

My 3301 manual says to use a CJ4 oil. Are all oils CJ4? Is that a synthetic? My manual does not say whether to use 10W30 or 15 W40 or what. I hate my manual
