Thank you, Heidi, I never get tired of looking at your gardens! So much beauty! Is Invincibelle Spirit II the only re-blooming hydrangea? Is it less tolerate of wet soils? I was reading the description somewhere and it said it didn’t like soils that were too wet.

The Invincibelle series are reblooming. There are a few varieties in that series. I wouldn't put them in areas that are wet, but the do need to be watered often.

Hi…I just love the Incrediball Blush but it didn’t do well in my garden bed. It was kind of leggy when I bought them from my local nursery but I wanted to give them a try. My location was afternoon Sun (11-3 or so) and the plant that got the most sun (not shaded by my garage wall) really suffered badly and it dried up very fast. I had to snip off all the blooms on most of the 4 that I bought. They get a low 1/2 hour mist soaking from my sprinkler daily. I bought mini mauvette too - do you think a part Sun location wouid be better for both of these hydrangeas. I really love them. Thanks - love your channel - I’ve bought some plants from you before but never the hydrangeas!

Where do you live, this can make a difference. We are in zone 6a and they do well in full sun. I wonder if your 'mist' may not be enough water for them. You will want to make sure they get a deep watering. You 11-3 Sun should be a decent amount of sun. Some times if they flop giving thm a good trim by at east 1/3 can be helpful.

@@gardencrossings thanks. I wound up cutting back the hydrangea that didn’t do well at all (cut the flowers off mostly and a few stems) and now it is leafy out and looking very healthy. I cut a few flowers off the ones that only had a little die back - and now they are all doing we.. I’m in zone 7 and we did have a very hot spell which lasted too long! I think the plants had transplant shock. It looks like I’ve saved them. I hope so! They are all looking better! Thanks!

What do you recommend to deter deer? I have lost blossoms due to heavy deer pruning over several years.

We use Bobbix or Plant Skydd.

Are you supposed to prune off the first round of blooms in order to get a better second round?

If you trim it will be much cleaner looking for the reblooms.

Why does my Invincible Spirit 2 flop? What can I do to help her? How much should be cut off each year? I have been doing a third.

Usually a third is what is recommended. You could try going with an aggressive trim this year and take it down to 2'

Limelight may do ok in your area. The thing is though, you wont get the nice pink tones. It will go green , white brown.
