When I was in school I hated it until I switched to jazz, and then I actually started to love my instrument and the music. It’s never too late to switch over!

Yeah I wasn’t much of a fan of the trumpet either and then the jazz band leader asked me to join a couple times but I was playing baseball so didn’t want that to interfere but eventually joined and it was actually kind of sick 😎👌 once you learn to improvise and can solo to basically anything, you gain an appreciation for both your instrument and your ability :)

To be fair, I don't know about you guys, but I was in middle school band when KZfaq started becoming popular and at the time, there were tons of trumpet videos where the camera quality looked like this. Just some other teenager or young adult playing in their bedroom. The trumpet playing may or may not have been pretty bad, but no matter how good they were, it would just overload the mic on their phone and produce and earrape video. I think most of us have experienced something similar, so this video was a pleasant surprise.

My neighbors are an old couple of musicians, they play mostly jazz, the lady on the piano and her husband plays the trumpet. I don't know them that much but there's nothing better than sitting outside with my cats while listening to their jazz sessions.

Damn dude. Way to post only 46 seconds of some of the smoothest swings swings through time I’ve ever heard. It’s literally astounding to me how much talent exists in the world. Oh no, I had a mute once, and it was beautiful. I really enjoyed the star wars opening theme with it, but that's beside the point. It gives it an old timey, tinny sound

Heck yeah bro! I’ve got a 1948 ambassador too! They are amazing horns! That era they were built on the same mandrels as the higher end horns and are very well built! I’ve got a couple clips with the ambassador on KZfaq as well!

Olds horns are very underrated! I’ve got a 1934 standard as well that’s very agile even by today’s standards! I wish Olds would start building horns like the old days! But conn/selmer bought up most of the brass companies toward the late 60s and put most of the horn manufacturers out of business! Look into buescher as well anything before 1964 is excellent quality!
