Great intro, right to the point! Good voice and clarity of pronunciation and educational purpose. The Lee press and most all their products are an excellent value for the money...really, I am amazed at what you get for the price. Only takes a little tweaking and polishing and it can do the same job as other presses. Your target will not know any difference, as long as you're careful as one would be with any precision "hobby". My new load master will be here on Monday. I've read that Load Master presses needed a break in period. It's so damn logical to smooth up the bearing surfaces, but it didn't occur to me. What this guy figured out is simply an accelerated way of simulating the break in. Rather than pull the handle 1,000 times he accomplished the exact same thing with emery cloth or sandpaper. Very cool, indeed. I liked the led lighting in the press. I'm going to do that, as well. Kudos to Shooter 072 on the making of the video. He obviously really cares about the viewer's ability to get the full benefit from his teaching lesson. I'm going to subscribe and see what else comes out of his brain about the Load-Master.

You did a great job with your instructions. A 12 year old can understand what you are talking about. I'm a big fan of Lee equipment also, It gets the job done well. It would be nice if lee would polish these parts at the factory but I suppose that would increase the cost a bit. Keep up the good work with the aftermarket modifications.

Nice job, no ten minutes of fluff, just short and sweet. I use a spray silicone on mine and it works well. I tried several other spray lubes and they did not work well. If you use graphite powder on the sliding plastic pieces it really helps keep them from hanging up. I know some say motor oil etc. but all that did was gum it all up. Keep the video's coming. You could do setting up the dies, the case feed system, and the primer system, adjusting the primer lever is fun also. I bought a swage die set for 9mm and can't get it set right to save my life! Keeps making the primer pockets too big, and yes I used the small rod ..

Thanks for an informative video. I have been on the fence regarding a progressive press, but have not been able to decide among Lee, Hornady, and Dillon. Neither have I had the spare change to invest in a Dillon or Hornady. Even if I bought a Dillon, the cost of a caliber change is still pricey. The polishing you have done on the Load Master now has me leaning towards a Load Master.

Good video with some good tips. The best I've seen yet. The problem with mine actually went a little further than yours did. Mine ran very smooth when I first got it but than as others did mine started hanging up. My shell plate lugs where the push rod pushes to rotate the plate had a slight burr all around the lugs. A slight groove had actually developed on the push rod. I took a dremel tool and slightly ground the burr than polished the edges on a bench grinder with a soft wheel.I also took some sandpaper and laid it on a flat surface and sanded out as much of the groove on the push rod without affecting its size to much than polished all the sharp edges on the rod. It's only been a couple days but so far so good. When I get a chance I'll try to make a video of my fix. I just wish I had taken before pics. of the push rod. I currently also have a rcbs single stage. I did have a Hornady progressive (older model) and that thing was flawless. Unfortunately It was left in my dads garage for a number of years and got I believe sold for scrap metal by another family member. But that's another story. The Lee was priced right and I wanted another progressive press. The Lee is a good press after it issues are solved but It's not what I would recommend to a first time reloader.

Ive had a load master for 25 years,functioned perfectly from the start. I suggest people read, understand and follow the instructions provided with the press.Use some commen sense !! Keep it properly lubricated and cleaned and it will last and produce your ammo as good as anything out there. A friend of mine had a dillon 650 and swore no other press could be as good,that is until he used my loadmaster a few times,now he is a proud lee owner .

Great Video... I've got 1 of these rascals and love it to death. Recommend: When tightening the shell plate/ejector nut... tighten it good and finger tight first to ensure all the kinks are out and it's indeed set... then loosen it up just this side of loose as you recommend. I'm a motor head so have no trouble, took it apart first... then loaded some rounds LOL. For sure picking up some 800 paper tomorrow.

I realize that I am late to this ball game but Thanks for a good informative vid and a great tip! As far as case alignment with the priming system, I like to use a universal decaping die in station 1 and resize only in station 2. This keeps the case aligned with the priming ram. It's an old school trick but one that some may not have heard about so...

Your video is great. The sound is good. The camera is great and your explination was very informative. Bravo. By the way, you might comment on your camera and mic used as they were really fine.

A quick fix I did on both my Loadmasters, was to put a figure of 8 zip tie loop for holding the indexing bar against the chassis, I used a loop of one zip tie and put it over the screw for the 2nd station case screw retainer, and the other loop goes around the indexing bar, it made the indexing bar keep straight and made the whole thing much sweeter to use. I did a lot of polishing on shell plates, and chamfer of the index bar as seen on many videos, all in all, the Loadmaster offers very good value for money, having recently sold my Loadmaster and upgraded to a Lock n Load AP, this broke on me after 5rds and 6hrs of setup. I have just returned the Lock n Load for a refund, and just ordered another Loadmaster. I ordered the Bully adaptor from Socal SW and pick that up in a week when I get to the states, and that will be all I need for a fully progressive high capacity loading press... for the money, you just can't beat the LEE LOADMASTER

Give yourself some credit it was a great video right to the point and solves the grinding issues the people who comment that this unit is no good are either lazy or stupid and should not be reloading anyway a good fix for the priming station if you don't know already is to use a quick trim die for the caliber you are using in station 2 it keeps the shell straight and helps with less primer issues happy loading brother

Awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. I have to put a lot of force when I pushing the lever back in. Lots of force and then it slams in. I can reload but just wish it was a lot smoother. I actually had some powder slosh out of my 9mm case because the shell plate feels forced to move to the next station.

The greatest amount of downward force is when the decapping die (station 1) is removing the spent primer. What I do is remove the primers before placing my brass into a wash or whatever you use to clean your brass. Now the primer pocket gets clean before you use your press. Since the primers are already removed the mechanical action (and force) of the press is much smoother. Regards, and thanks for the video!

The bevel on the index rod faces toward your RIGHT, toward the case feed tube. You want the end of the index rod to catch on the "pentagon" and the bevel to kick off of the cast carrier rib.

Good info here. Its like a nice trigger after 1000's of rounds. Its essentially a trigger job for the press.

Vernon, Yes, the bevel is "suppose" to go to the right, I have found the press to run smoother and without any issues with the bevel facing the index cam on the shell plate. When installed "backwards" from the conventional way, the bevel allows the index rod to "ride" the cam lobe smoother. Try it some time.

I'm with you my first reloader was a Pro1000 that was given to me!! I tweaked it and it works fine! I saved my money and Cabelas points and then bought a Hornady LNL nicer loader than the Pro1000 yeah!! But way more money!! Still a learning curve with any press!!

Good deal. I bought a bare press (no dies or powder measurer) to upgrade from a gen2 Lee Pro 1000. The press was as smooth as a bucket of sand dumped in a fat man's trunks playing beach volleyball while half into a bottle of JD. I went back to my reload 3 stage LP1000. I'll follow your suggestions.

Mine works great.

I've had a Loadmaster for 10 years and have never been able to get it set up to perform the way it's advertised to do so. Your video helps and I'm hoping to eventually get fuller use of this machine. One question. Do you know if they changed the shellplates design, underneath at least? Mine don't have that hexagon shape but rather the indexer works against metal "blisters" under the shellplate.

How has the loadmaster held up for you? Is the press still smooth and tight or has it gotten sloppy?
